"So this is the Mystic Grill" I said as I brought Nik to the last place around town.
"Is it a bar?" He asked as he looked at the sign. I nodded my head and walked in, Nik trailed behind me as I sat at the bar.
"I'll take bourbon" I said.. ahh a classic Damon Salvatore drink. Yeah I know the Salvatore brothers and I know Elena and her friends. Caroline used to bully me until Tyler confronted her and now she's trying to be my friend.
"Can I see ID" the bartender said. Usually if Matt was behind the bar he would give me free drinks.
"I think she said she wanted a bourbon" Klaus said as he looked over at the bar tender. The guy turned around and grabbed a cup and poured the liquid in the cup. He set the cup down.
"Leave the bottle" Nik said as he stared directly into the mans eyes. The man nodded and set the bottle down. My breathing stopped in my throat.. I know about compulsion and I'm pretty sure that's what it just was.
"How did you do that?" I asked him.
"I guess I'm a scary guy" Nik lied. I swallowed my spit and turned towards Nik.
"What's wrong love?" He asked looking at me as he took a sip of his drink.
"H-how did you know something was wrong?" I asked him nervously.
"Because your nervous" he pointed out. Im probably asking for a death wish but I need to know how he compelled the bar tender, I don't smell vampire on him.
I took a deep breath and looked at Nik,
"You compelled that bar tender.. how?" I asked. Nik froze and looked at me.
"How do you know about compulsion?" He asked.
"I never tell my secrets.. you don't smell like a vampire and werewolf's can't compel so how did you do that" I asked.
"Because I'm both" Nik whispered.
"Both? But how is that possible" I whispered-yelled at him.
"The same reason why your a hybrid yourself" Nik said and this time I froze.
"How did you know?" I asked him.
"Because your my mate" he said.
"Mate? I thought that was just a fairy tale your told as a young wolf just to scare you" I said as I drank the rest of my drink. I picked up the bottle and poured more bourbon in my cup.
"Why would finding yourself mate scare you?" He asked.
"I used to get told that your mate only wants you to make babies and than after you have the baby he kill you" I said. Nik looked at me and didn't say anything.
"Well that's not true.. your mate stays with you and loves you till the end" Nik said
"And how do you know I'm your mate?" I asked. I noticed high schoolers started showing up at the grill.. school must be out already.
"Well i don't know if it was just me but I felt the tingly feeling when I grabbed your hand" Nik said. I did feel that tingle.. maybe we are mates...
Before I could say anything, Tyler came up to me and pulled me away from Nik.
"Where the hell were you at school?" He asked.
I gestured towards Nik and said "that guy over there asked me to show him around town.. his name is Niklaus" Tyler looked over and that back at me.
"Are you crazy! That's Klaus" he said.
"Ok?" I said confused.
"He's the almighty hybrid that's after the doppelgänger which happens to be Elena" Tyler said.
"Ty.. I could care less about Elena.. plus he's not even that scary" I said as I started to walk back to him. Tyler grabbed my arm.
"I don't want you seeing him again" Tyler said.
"Who are you my mom? You can't tell me who I can and can't see" I said and ripped my arm from his hand. Tyler sighed and clenched his fists. He was trying to contain his anger.
"Fine! Go ahead and be with him but if he tries to kill you don't come crying to me" Tyler said and stomped out of the restaurant. I shook my head and went back to my seat.
"It seems like your brother doesn't like me" Nik said
"Wait how did you know he's my brother?" I asked
"You look like him slightly" Nik said.

Me and Nik spent the rest of the day at the grill drinking and talking.
"Well Nik it's been fun and games but I need to get home before my mom kills me" I slurred and stumbled to the exit.
"Oh no.. your drunk as a cow.. your gonna stay at my place tonight" Nik said as he picked me up bridal style and carried me to his car.
"You said you wouldn't kidnap me" I said jokingly.
"Well I don't see you struggling.. your coming at your own will" Nik said as he sat me down in the car.
"Cause I'm drunk silly" I said and slumped over in the chair.
"Your a hybrid.. even if you were drunk you would have been able to fight me off" Nik said as he turned on the car and drove to his house.. it was a beautiful mansion. I rubbed my eyes a couple times to make sure I wasn't dreaming that.
"This is your house" I said surprised.
"Yep" Nik said and he carried me into his house and up the stairs. He laid me in his bed and turned off the light.
"I'll be in the guest room" he said as he started to walk out the door.
"Nik" I said
"Yeah" he replied and turned towards me.
"Stay with me please" I said. Nik walked over to the bed and laid next to me. I scooted over to him and cuddled up to him, man was he comfortable.
"Goodnight Nik" I whispered
"Goodnight Anastasia" he replied.
My breathing eventually evened out and I fell asleep in Nik arms.
