AN: The last chapter was a little sad. But I felt like I had to explain what had happened to her friend. This chapter won’t be nearly as sad though. Hope you enjoy it!!!!!

“Just don’t think about it.” I kept telling myself. “Think of happy things……….happy things.” Trying to only think positive is much harder than it sounds.

Last week had been rough. I had had to remember things of the past that had stirred up some mixed emotions. But what had surprised me the most was the fact that the Fortune had understood my feelings and wanted to talk about them, not forget them like everyone else seemed to have done.

“Enough.” I mentally kicked myself. I really needed to stop bringing myself down.

Sooner than I expected, my mind filled with super happy thoughts, and the invisible boundary was slowly receding.

Then my luck ran out, and the boundary returned filling me with a sense of dread.

“Don’t give into depression Saturn. It only makes you fall in deeper.” the Fortune cautioned.

I knew that he had my best interests at heart. But sometimes I felt so…annoyed at him for many reasons. But I couldn’t let that get in the way of my teaching.

“Keep trying. I know you can overcome this.” he told me. “Let’s hope your right.” I mumbled.

“Saturn, if you don’t mind, I would like to speak to your parents.” the Fortune requested. “No, not at all. Go right ahead.” I said, motioning towards my parents.

“Privately.” he added.

He must have taken my expression to heart because his gaze softened a little. “That is, if your okay with it.” he said.

I nodded. “Sure.”

I thought it was kind of weird how he only wanted to speak to my parents. He always included me in his conversations, and well everything. So yeah, I have to admit, I was jealous and a little offended. My only thought now was that the Fortune hadn’t heard me say that.

After about 30 minutes, I started to get bored, and anxious. “What were they talking about that took this much time?” I wondered. Finally my prays were answered when both my mom and dad walked into the practice room.

“Ready to go home, sweetie?” my mom asked me. She had a weird smile on her face. A sympathetic one. I hated sympathy, especially from my mother. She always made it seem worse than it really was.

“Yes.” I snapped, a little too sharply. “Sorry.” I sighed. Things were getting tougher not easier.

“It’s alright honey. I know you didn’t mean it.” she smiled back at me. That’s what I loved about my mom, she always knew how to make things better.

As we were walking towards our car, another one pulled up next to ours. A dark man in a black suit and tie stepped out. “There is no way that this guy is a friends of the Fortune’s.” I thought aloud. “I was thinking the same thing.” my father admitted.

This guy looked like he had it made. From his super expensive car (no doubt with some foreign name), and his complete suit and aviator sunglasses, he looked rich…very rich. Shortly after this dashing man arrived, three more came, each in their own car.

“They must be from the same company or something, right dad?” I asked. Turning to my father, I saw a look of recognition, and fear. “Dad?” I asked worried now. I turned to my right to look at my mother, but her face was the same way. “Mom? What’s going on?” I demanded to know. I was beyond scared now. My parents were both in horrified trances, and 4 men were coming closer and closer, and they didn’t look nice.

I tried shaking them. “Wake up, wake up!” I pleaded.

Then boom. My dad was up and alert. He turned to me. His eyes were slowly trying to register what I was doing. Then he gently moved me out of the way and snapped his fingers in front of my mother’s face. Then boom. She was awake too.

“Are you serious?” I blurted. “I have been shaking you trying to wake you up out of your trance and all I had to do was snap my fingers?” I said in disbelief. “Uh- yeah.” my father answered unsure. “Whatever.’ I snapped back.

“Anyways” my father continued awkwardly. “Those guys used to be friends of Alex’s. They worked for him and were part of his plan to rule the city and eventually the whole world. Of course they wanted some power in this too, but Alex refused saying that he was all powerful, blah blah blah. So they left and decided to start their own group called the Defendence.”  my father explained to us.

This was all a little bit too much for me. I sighed. Why do things have to be so complicated. Thing were just starting to get easier to handle and now this.

"Will the Fortune be OK?" I asked my parents.

"I think so. I mean the Fortune should have things under control. He is never unprepared for things like this no matter how sudden it may seem." my father suggested.

"Did you ever think that maybe the Fortune is working with them?" my mother added.

My father and I both turned to her. She would never be the one to say something like that let alone think it. "What?" she asked. "Nothing." I said, winking at my dad.

"I think we should go check on him. Just to make sure." I pointed out.

Before anyone could stop me, I turned back the way we had come, and started back towards his house in pursuit of the four well dressed men. I heard two pairs of footsteps behind me and I knew my parents were just as curious as i was.

I was about to knock on the front door when I heard a crash coming from the backyard. We ran over to the beach side of the house. If the circumstances were different, I would have admired my surroundings. But now was not the time.

The scene that played out in front of me was hard to take in. Sand flew the air, and fabric was whipped off of shoulders and legs. I couldn't make out a single person. Only a mass of black and white. The grunts and moan from being hit were replaced by laughter. I was so confused.

Then two male figures stepped out of the mess with arms over each others shoulders. "It's good to see you again." the Fortune exclaimed to his friend. "Who is this guy?" I whispered ot my mom. "No idea." she murmured under her breath.

"Why it's my old friend David Valechio. He is the current leader of the Defendence." the Fortune said, answereing my question and finally acknowleding us.

I sighed. Things were definitely changing, and fast.
