HEY YA'LL I'M NOT DEAD HAHAHAH
expect some REALLY SLOW update after this one SKSKSKSK I'M SORRY

----

Taeil groans silently as he walks down the stairs. He lost a bet with 127 members again. He should've known by now that placing a bet with those kids would only bring him his downfall. Today, he lost to a game of musical chairs. Sounds easy, right? But playing with 127 members are brutal.

The rules are still the same: when the music stops, you gotta hurry up and find a chair to sit on. But what the man didn't know was that when Johnny brutally knocks him off his seat- with his butt, may I add- means that Johnny's the owner of his seat. Taeil did complain. But what's the use of arguing with 8 other kids who share the same brain cell? Weird excuses being thrown at him as to why the battle was fair.

"I mean, the music did stop, but you were on your seat for like a millisecond before Johnny Hyung  took it."

"Yeah, a millisecond on your seat doesn't count."

And so here he is.

Walking towards McDonald's to order 9 Double Cheeseburgers and 9 Cokes (Including him). He secretly thanked the gods that he just got his paycheck a few days ago, even though he may get bankrupt after this.

Opening the door to the fast-food restaurant, he saw that the place was almost empty even though it was around 4 p.m.

Shouldn't the place be full of teenagers coming home from school or something?

He hurriedly made his way towards the cashier, ordering the food as he earned a chuckle from the cashier. While the cashier went away to prepare his big order, Taeil decided to stand there, tapping on the counter to the beat of the song that was playing softly on the speakers above him.

Suddenly, a young lady walked to the counter beside him. She was holding what looks like a 5-year-old boy in her arms. Taeil watched as the lady carefully set him down beside her and held his hands instead.

As she placed the order, the child suddenly let out a whine, pulling the young lady's shirt.

"Mom, I want the one with toys!"

"I'm sorry, Jun-ah, but mommy didn't bring enough money," She whispered the last part, loud enough for Taeil to hear.

"But, I got the first rank in class! You promised!" The kid pouted.

"I know, but maybe-"

Taeil suddenly blurted out, cutting the lady's sentences.

"I'll buy you the kids' meal!" He said, which he immediately regretted. Not because he didn't want to buy the kid some food, but because it means he's been eavesdropping.

"That's very kind of you, but I can't take that offer." The lady politely rejected. Her voice making Taeil's heart soften.

"No, no, it's okay." Taeil stepped forward, "He deserves it." Taeil smiled to the kid, which eyes were now sparkling with awe.

"Please, mommy?" The kid then stared at his mother with sad eyes.

The lady looked at Taeil, back to her child and back to Taeil once again. "Thank you,"

Taeil's heart skipped a beat after seeing her smile.

Taeil then beckoned the kid to his side and the kid happily obliged. Putting his arms around the kid's shoulder, he leaned down and asked for what toy he wanted. When the cashier came back with all of his order, he asked the cashier for one more. The cashier smiled once again while trying to contain another chuckle and went away to get the order.

"So, what's your name, kid?" Taeil asked, crouching down to his level. His mother watching the stranger and her son interacting.

"Han Seokjun," Seokjun shyly replied.

"That sounds like a brave and strong man's name." Taeil chuckled,

"What about you?"

"Oh, mine's Moon Taeil. It's not as special as your though," Taeil shyly scratched his neck.

"It's an amazing name! Do you want to know my mom's name? She has the prettiest name of all!" Seokjun beamed. Taeil gave his mother, asking if it's okay to know her name. The lady gave her an approving look, earning a smile from Taeil.

"I'll be the judge of that, so, what's her name?"

"(Y/N)! See? that's a pretty name!" Seokjun cheered. Taeil cheered along with him saying, "The prettiest I've heard in years." Which caused the owner of the name to blush furiously.

The order finally arrived. Taeil gave the one with the toy to Seokjun, he was ready to say goodbye, but before he could, (Y/N) stopped her.

"Please, let me pay you back someday," She said to which Taeil shook his head softly, rejecting the offer.

"Then," She paused thinking of something, "Let me help you carry those," (Y/N) pointed at the numerous bags Taeil's holding.

"No, it's okay-"

"Please! It's the least I can do,"

With the sincere look on her face, Taeil agreed.

On the way back to SM's building. Taeil and (Y/N) got to know each other. Turns out, (Y/N)'s a single mother, around his age. (Y/N)'s been struggling to keep Seokjun fed and healthy for the past 5 years and Taeil couldn't help but feel a little bit teary-eyed at her story and in return, Taeil told her how he got into this situation which made (Y/N) laugh.

Once again, Taeil's heart skipped a beat.

"This is it, thank you for helping me carry these."

"You don't need my help carrying those up there?"

"Nope, I texted the others to come pick it up."

"Well, then... It was nice meeting you, Taeil."

"Nice to meet you, too, and Seokjun." He said winking at the boy beside her, earning a cute giggle.

Silence.

"I-if it's alright, can I get your phone number?" Taeil asked, "You know, so we can hang out again?"

(Y/N) smiled.

"Sure."
