Chris:

"M-mom.." I close the book with tears starting to sting my eyes. My eyes focus on the last place I saw her, the left side of me, but She's not there..

She's not there..

A wave of loneliness hits me like a tsunami. My mother left me again and she didn't even say goodbye this time.

Then there's the tears, and I'm crying like a little bitch cause I miss my mother. And not just that, but also the thoughts of all the things I could have done to prevent her from attempting suicide. I had people who prevented me from it, and it's sad to know that my mother didn't have anyone to prevent her from it.

There's a knock on my door. I hurry to close the book and put it under my mattress, along with wiping my tears away.

"Come in." I say. To my suprise it's Shane. I thought Ryland was going to yell at me again about my behavior last night. "Dad."

"Have you been crying?" I nod slightly, before giving him a huge hug.

"I-I saw my mother."

Then there's moment silence of me expectedly looking at my father. There. His face softens, and I know he understands.

"I'm not crazy..but I saw her."

"When I was younger, my grandmother died. We were so close, and old age just took her away." He says, sitting on the foot of my bed. He changes his voice to his creepy voice, making the story even more creepier. "I used to see her all the time around me. It's not a bad thing, think of it as another way of seeing her again."

"Anywaysss." I roll my eyes at my father's sudden change of mood. "Great job at playing perfect daughter at dinner last night!"

A small laugh escapes my mouth. "Yeah, it's whatever."

Silence. Then a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey, that sudden out burst wasn't for nothing. What's been bothering you?"

"Ray, do you ever just look at your scars and just remember the hard times." I ask Raven next to me, she's too busy sketching furiously in her sketchbook. "Like, it may be hidden, but it's still there. It never goes away and I hate it."

She stops with her sketch and matches her dark brown eyes with mine.

"You're right. They're never going to go away no matter how good they fade. No matter how many tattoos are covered on them, or concealer piles on there. They will always be there-forever."

I shake my head, snapping back into reality. "nothing. I'm just overreacting, and I guess I was a little nervous meeting Ryland's parents."

Shane gives me a hard stare. This, I have been good at, lying. Ever since the days where my own blood used to mesmerize me, lying has always been my strong suit. I've been doing it for the longest that now it seems like the truth.

Except, I haven't lied about my feelings to Shane since last year.

"Okay." Shane starts to get up to leave. "Oh yeah, don't forget... tomorrow- get ready to be shook. Bring a tea cup tomorrow, you'll need it."

"Wait why?" My dad hides behind the door frame with his spooky eyes, making him look actually ridiculous.

Then it hits me...Dad-no Charles. I'm visiting him in jail tomorrow morning with Nicole. My stomach drops, I haven't thought of him in awhile. What if jail didn't change him? What if he is the same heartless bastard then before?

"Nicole is picking you up at 9:30. So you need to be up by then. Don't worry, babygirl, you'll
Be fine."

Okay...if something happens you won't be there though. Nicole doesn't know how to deal with me when I get triggered by certain things..
