Hatter had warned Alice before her arrival to the moat that she should be careful. Wonderland was not the place of dreams she thought it to be when she had arrived. In the beginning it was mesmerising and beautiful but now it was becoming dark and scary. The bloody trail running from the town was clearly a sign that something was terribly wrong and the floating heads were clearly a warning yet, even so it did not deter the brave young girl.
Alice had not noticed all the heads until she saw the head with the crown on it. While all the other heads were grey, dull and slightly decomposing, the one with the crown on it seemed like it had not been there as long as the others that looked rather pale and some even bloated, they had clearly been in that water for quite some time. However, the one with the crown on it seemed fresh, like a head that had just been cut and there seemed to be some blood seeping from it's neck into the murky water of the moat.
The young girl however, was still trying to figure out a way to get across the moat. There was a drawbridge but it was not open and Hatter had told her not to cross the water but he didn't say why, although the girl wouldn't do it anyway as she did not want to be drenched in blood. She looked around her and began pacing. She had to find a way out of this wicked place and she had to stop the Bloody Red Queen but how would she be able to do such a thing when she was just a child.
Hatter had sent a young girl to do the task of an adult. The absent minded girl, wandering off into her thoughts again, had not realised that the decapitated heads had began to bob up and down in the water as she was too busy thinking of how to get across. The water began to bubble abruptly and she was not paying attention. She stood so close to the moat's edge as she dazed off but soon enough the bubbles, that were getting more noticeable by the second, caught her attention.

Something was in the water. There was something lurking in the depths of the moat's murky waters. Beneath the depth of the water the eye of the beast had opened. A beast had awakened upon seeing the young girl standing at the moat's edge and pondering in. She saw a tail flip up and then go back down into the water again. It looked like a tail from what she believed to be gator in the human world but it seemed much larger than the pictures she had seen of it in books.

The water began to continuously bubble and fizz, the bubbles heading in the direction of Alice and the tail of the beast swaying in the water. A sharp scaly serrated tail neared her, swaying left to right. This beast had heads but she was fresh meat and if she were to fall in, she'd most likely be this beasts main course. It was clear to Alice now that this was the reason Hatter warned her not to go into the water. The monster was the guard of the moat and those who were to cross it without the drawbridge were eaten.
The beast raised its head from the water, raising up as high as a two story building. The colour of its scales were a mixture of green and black. It's eyes were an ambient yellow, almost amber, colour. It's mouth opened slightly revealing it's sharp rows of teeth as it looked directly at the girl before crashing back into the water.
