I walked passed the man dressed in a suit with a bunny costume head over his head. The costume head fulfilling it's purpose of keeping his face hidden from me.

He was pushing the janitor's cart when I walked passed him. I didn't question it though as I was far too focused on leaving. However, at the back of my mind I couldn't help but think. Was this the school's new mascot? Are they planning to have a festival or fundraiser this year that we needed a man dressed as bunny? Perhaps, a circus theme? I thought as I walked on.

It was strange to see this kind of thing, a man with a bunny head, walking around in the corridors of the school but nonetheless I walked on. I felt the breeze blow through my hair since the doors leading outside were left open, I'm guessing by the peculiar bunny man. I could have sworn he was looking at me. My hair blew slightly as I walked passed him however, he continued to push the cart whilst whistling an odd tune.

I glanced in his direction, tucking a hair behind my ear since some of my hair had blown in my face. My eyes quickly glancing at him and then looking away. It seemed as if he had done the same as well but how on earth could he see through that costume head?

I continued to walk paying no mind to him as he went on whistling. Maybe this was a practical joke? Well if this was set up as a prank, I didn't think it was funny. In fact, I was slightly creeped out by it, and the fact that it felt as though he was watching me, but I chose not to show it as I made my way out of the school, towards the front steps of the building.

Flowers from the cherry blossom trees were scattered all over the steps as some of the vibrant pink flowers blew in a graceful dance around me. As I exited the school premises, I walked on the pavement. The wind still continuing to blow my hair against my cheeks as I walked.

I didn't bother looking behind me as I took my normal route home. No stopping by the cafe today for blue berry cheese cake and tea. Today, I think I need sleep. That's what I need, I thought. I needed to rest or at least try to get some sleep. I was becoming like a Zombie and all because of a nightmare that kept me up at night. I couldn't concentrate in class at all and that's what got me into trouble to-

"Be careful Alice." I heard in the middle of my thoughts. I furrowed my eyebrows at this. Am I hearing things? Have I gone mad?

"Alice he's coming for you." I heard faintly in the wind as if an invisible being was with me.

My lack of sleep and constant cold sweats must have been getting to me so much so that I was beginning to hear things. Perhaps I was hallucinating? So sleep deprived I was slowly losing my grip on reality.

Taking the turn I usually took I could hear the clicking of my school shoes on the pavement. For some reason my ears seemed to be very sensitive today. With each step I took I could hear my shoes hit the surface of the pavement I was walking on but as I kept walking the sounds getting louder and louder no longer sounded like that of my own two feet but that another pair as well.

Someone was walking behind me. I turned around to slightly look back and see who it was. I hoped it wasn't the man with the bunny costume head I had seen earlier but I was relieved when instead it was a police officer. His work uniform was blue and I could tell he was one based on his police hat and badge, which was a silver looking gold colour.

"Hello Miss." He said as he noticed me looking in his direction. I slightly tilted my head. "Can I have a moment of your time." He said as he walked towards me. It seemed as though he was in a hurry. I didn't talk I just nod. He spoke on as he stood in front of me, once I was fully facing him.

"I think it would be better if you got someone to walk home with you," he continued. "There has been word that girls are disappearing around this area and when I saw you I thought I'd tell you since it seems that you could possibly fit into that category. So just be wary or on the look out. If you see anything strange just give me a call." He said handing me a card with what appeared to be a number on it.

"Disappearing?" I question furrowing my eyebrows. "Why haven't I heard about this on the news?" I questioned. If girls were going missing surely their families would know and there would be missing persons pictures scattered all over the city.

"They told us not to make it public so we hid it from the media however, there are searches and private investigations currently taking place as we speak."

"Why didn't they tell anyone?" I said thinking to myself but not realising the words left my lips.

"They didn't want to cause a state of panic in this part of the city and also we not sure if the disappearances are girls that actually went missing or if it's related to the bodies we found at Aokigahara (Suicide Forest). If this is to do with suicide though we will keep it from the public but I don't think that's the case. So just be wary. Usually it is safe but with what's happening it's best if you walk with someone." The officer continued, seemingly concerned.

I didn't get to talk as he spoke on. "Just contact me if you feel unsafe." He said pointing towards the card in my hand and before I knew it he was walking away from me. Turning around I continued to walk, keeping in mind what the police officer said. I finally made it to my door feeling relieved I had finally arrived home and called for my mom.

"Mom." I stretched out, leaving my shoes at the door as I walked in with the door closing behind me. I dropped my bag on the floor and slumping down on the couch. "I'm home."
