Alice thought to herself in a desperate need to escape as there was no way to get across the moat. This is nothing but a dream, it defies the laws of reality. She thought but this was the only way to give herself hope. If she believed it was a dream that means she would be able to escape it by waking herself up but if it were to be real there was no chance of her leaving. She'd be stuck in Wonderland forever. So this had to be a dream for her sake.

If it were a dream, that means she could not be eaten and perhaps she could cross the moat, even with the beast lurking in it's depth. She had been standing there for so long, waiting for the wooden drawbridge to open but it was not happening. There was only one way to get across, through the water, which Hatter specifically told her not to go near. How would she get back home? This task seemed utterly impossible. The only possible explanation in the young girl's mind was that it was just a dream.

"It's just a dream," she said as she attempted to close her eyes and pinch herself but when her eyes opened, nothing had happened and she found herself standing in the same spot, still overlooking the moat. The only way to get to the other side was to cross it and risk being eaten. She thought about this. Was this real? She pinched herself but she didn't wake up? Perhaps, a good scare would do the trick? If she confronted the beast it might scare her out of her dream, like when you wake up from a nightmare.

This however, already felt like a nightmare for the young girl as it was. She took a step forward, her foot now soaked. It was just a dream. She thought. She would not be harmed and the beast would merely scare her awake. She took another shaky step forward as her foot landed into a muddy mushy like surface, squishing under her feet. The murky water touching her skin as she ventured deeper into the moat.

After taking the first two steps the water seemed quite shallow and Alice thought that maybe she was on the shallow side of the water but as she took her third step she realised she was not. She had fallen in, almost immediately as her foot slipped in the slippery mush of mud. She had fallen into the moat. Her eyes were closed as the water hit her face and as she opened them underwater she saw a terrible site.

The souls of people were chained to the bottom of the moat. They were a luminescent, transparent green colour. Alice couldn't help but to scream as she got caught in some seaweed and swam into a corpse, the corpse of a girl who by the looks of it had drowned. Some skeletal remains of people were scattered at the bottom of the moat. This was a place of death.

Alice was screaming underwater as she pushed the drowned corpse away from her and just as she looked, opening her eyes again, she was looking into the amber eyes of the beast

Alice was screaming underwater as she pushed the drowned corpse away from her and just as she looked, opening her eyes again, she was looking into the amber eyes of the beast. Like fire it burnt into her soul. It's mouth opened slightly revealing it's sharp teeth, bubbles shooting everywhere as it began swimming towards her. She was stuck in the seaweed and the monster was approaching her.
