DEMI'S POV
"The number you have dialled is currently unavailable. Please leave a message after the beep"
"Umm, Hi Bri... Look, this is probably the tenth message I left you and I've been calling Raph too, but he isn't picking up either. Like I said before, I need to talk to you and I hope you could call me back. Please call me, its really important."
I hung up the phone as I continued to stroll down the empty street. I've been walking for about an hour now since I broke down outside Nick's house and to be honest, I had no idea where I was going. I've been calling Brianna and Raph nonstop but neither one of them has answered me and I didn't know why. I was lost, with tear-stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes, completely oblivious to the world around me.
The sun had just finished setting and the moon has already replaced it. The temperature had dropped as the night wind expelled the day breeze. It was dark, freezing, and I was here wandering alone.
The pain I feel is still fresh and the anger, still hasn't evaporated. The haunting image of what I saw in that room was still meshed with my thoughts and as much as I wanted to get rid of it, it seemed like it was embedded in my brain and I just couldn't get it out.
The tears had stopped in a temporary ceasefire but the hurt I felt was more than enough to get it to stream back down. I didn't know how much longer I could push the tears back, but one thing was for sure, it wasn't gonna take long. I've never felt this way before, and I've never cried as hard either, never felt so betrayed and lied to.
I couldn't comprehend the aweful truth that Nick actually had the will to do this to me. And to think we were even friends before all this shit! I don't know what to do anymore, I can't think straight. The damage has made a massive impact on me that even my state of mind had been severely altered.
The warning signs were right in front of me. Harry told me, he warned me about Nick but I refused to listen to him and even cut him off at one point, because I didn't think that what he was telling me would even be possible. I chose to trust the person who I've known almost all my life, the person whom I was so sure would never betray me and let me down. I chose to be secure in the little haven that I have created between me and Nick and now here I am, all alone, with nowhere to go, fooled by the same person I chose to trust. This day has been so exhausting and all I wanted do was just talk to somebody and vent about what I was feeling, but it seemed like my friends have gone awol.
I persisted with my stroll, with my hands buried inside my jacket pockets to keep me warm from the cool april breeze. I have been walking a straight path for estimately twelve blocks away from Nick's house and I was starting to feel my feet getting tired.
Should I just go home?
No. I shouldn't even consider the idea. My Mum would be there and for sure, if she saw me in this disheveled state, she would start her usual inquisition and I don't have the energy nor the emotional capacity to deal with her right now. I don't want to have to explain to her by detail about the drama between Nick and I because quite frankly, I don't think I'm ready to hear what she has to say about it.
I was distracted by the sudden vibration coming from my phone in my front pocket, I fished it out to see who was calling, it must be Brianna or Raph. I glanced at my phone and the name flashed on the screen was neither any of the ones that I've been expecting. It was just Bryan.
I swiped across the screen to answer the call and before I could even say a word, the loud music came blasting through my ears, "Dems! How's it hangin'?" Bryan tried to overpower the music but his voice still sounded barely audible.
"I'm fine, Bry." I answered him unethusiastically.
"What? Dems, I can't hear you!" he continued shouing, this time his irritating voice came on a little too loud which caused me to hurriedly hold my phone away from ear.
