HARRY'S POV
I walked past the living room, giving no attention to my knocked out father, stepping up the flight of stairs which lead to the second floor then proceeded to the first door in the broad hallway. I skilfully reached for the doorknob with the hand that was supporting Demi's leg and the door opened with a click. I turned the lights on and gently laid Demi on the bed, she twisted and turned when she landed on the dubet but still remained asleep.
I decided to take a quick shower and change into more comfortable clothes before I worked on getting Demi clean. Once I was all dressed in my sweatpants and an old university shirt which I radomly grabbed from my closet, I dried my damp hair with a towel as Iwalked back into my room. I opened my bathroom door and saw Demi sitting on the edge of my bed, her hair was nestling untidily on top of her head as she massaged either side of her temples.
"My head hurts so bad," She groaned as she cringed to the floor.
I moved to hang the towel on the knob of my closet and made my way to the bedroom door, "Wait, I'll get you some aspirine or probably paracetamol. It'll help with your headache," I said to her on my way out.
"No!" I stopped in my tracks as she suddenly called out to me, "I-I'm fine... I just, I had a bad dream and my head hurts and... and I'm fine. I just need to take a shower or a bath or something," She said, looking flustered as babbled the words.
"A bad dream?" I repeated a fraction of her words that caught my attention, making sure I got it right.
"Yeah, Its nothing." She waved it off, blindly waiving her hand in the air as persisted on rubbing the sides of her forehead whilst bowing down.
"Are you sure? Cause I can ju-"
"Yes, I'm fine." She cut me off, squinting her eyes shut in frustration. I wonder what's bothering her so much that's got her so uneasy and ill at ease?
She then abruptly stood to her feet and made a step forward, but before she could even cover any ground, her feet faultered as she stumbled, unable to keep any balance. I instinctively dashed towards her, catching her just before she toppled to the floor.
I held her against my arms and helped her stand to her feet, "Are you okay?" I asked, concern evident in the tone of my voice. She nodded silently as her eyes dodged mine.
I led her back on the bed, ignoring her odd behaviour, and let her rest against the matress, "I think its best if you'd just stay here. I'll get a bowl of water and a towelette... and maybe something you can change into."
She said nothing back as she rested her head on the pillow and closed her eyes. With nothing else left to do, I stood straight up and padded my way downstairs. As I reached the first floor, I made a detour to the living room, turning off the gramophone and fixing the clutter my Dad had made. My Dad kept snoring as I repositioned him on the lazy-boy so he could sleep more comfortably. After making sure my Dad was in place, I proceeded on to the kitchen and fetched all that I needed and with a bowl of warm tap water and a piece of towel in my hands, I strode back upstairs, making a straight lane towards my room. I opened the wooden door and was greeted by a sleeping Demi sprawled across the duvet.
I carefully placed the bowl on my bedside drawer and padded across the floor, making my way to the bathroom. I grabbed a t-shirt and a pair of unused boxer shorts from my closet before getting back to my room. These should be good enough for her to sleep in.
I re-enetered my room and sat at the edge of my bed, right beside Demi,"Demi?" I whispered to her in an attempt to wake her up but she doesn't budge. My hand hovered over her leg but I quickly redirected it back to me, in an unadulterated realization that I couldn't just touch her anywhere I wanted to. I wouldn't want to be sued with harassment, now, would I?
