Ashish
It was Akshita's first birthday after our marriage and I really wanted it to be special because I knew she never had a special birthday before. So I want to make sure it's her best birthday ever.
I packed our luggage and kept it secretly inside my wardrobe while Akshita was sleeping. I planned a small trip for Akshita and I because there was a delay in our honeymoon trip. After checking the luggage, I went back to our bed and slept beside Akshita. Sensing my presence, she moved to my side and wrapped her legs around me.
I kissed her forehead as she slept soundlessly cuddling to my side, her hands were on my chest, her head on my arm and her silky smooth hair was sprawled on the bed. Her lips were a little parted making her look beyond adorable. She stirred a bit in her sleep scrunching her nose and then slept hiding her face in my neck. I chuckled at her adorable gestures and kissed her hair.
I wish to God that my beautiful girl always stays happy.
I also fell asleep after that because I had a big day planned for her.
When I woke up, Akshita was not beside me. The dressing room door clicked open and she came out all readied but still drying her hair with a towel. I kept my hands on either side of my face and stared at her as she dried her hair.
"Ashish, wake up it's late," She said not looking at me. I just sighed in response. Damn! She looked eatable.
"Ashish, wake..." She stopped mid-sentence when she turned around and saw me looking at her. Her mouth turned into a big smile making her look even more stunning than she already was.
"Hi," I mumbled. She giggled.
"Ashish, it's so cold and it's not even December yet." She whined squirming a bit. I stood up from the bed and walked towards her. I wrapped my arms around her tightly and she snuggled into my warmth.
"Now, better?" I asked placing a kiss on her forehead.
"Hmm, cozy." She replied with a crooked smile.
"Well, today is a really special day for me, like the best day ever."
"Why? What is so important today?" She asked curiously.
"I expected you to ask that because I know my girl is a bit dumb," I said teasing her and pinching her nose. She made a face at me and pouted turning away from me. I shook with laughter at her behaviour.
"The girl who doesn't remember her birthday is definitely dumb, don't you think." Her face formed into an 'O' and then she sobered up.
"Now, I remember it, but I don't like my birthday." She said staring into space. I stopped laughing and realised her mood was off. I raised her chin upwards with my fingers and looked at her affectionately.
"I am sorry. Sometimes I forget that you have gone through things I cannot even imagine. I have had a sheltered childhood and my parents gave me everything I asked for. Sometimes I forget that you never got the love you deserved." I said sadly.
"Ashish, it's not your..."
"Shh...You don't need to worry about anything now. I will make you fall in love with days you hate and the things you never experienced. You will love your birthday from now on. I promise." I said determined, stopping her mid-sentence.
"Ashish..." She murmured my name and tears started pouring out from her eyes.
"You are my whole heart." She mumbled tearfully.
"And you are mine," I said grinning.
"We have a lot of plans for today so come on." I pulled her into the dressing room and sat her down on the chair. Plugging the blow dryer, I started blowing her hair.
