I remember asking myself a few months ago, what is most important in life. Is it love, friends or family? A few months ago, I didn't have any of these and now I have them all. Looking back at my bad days, I always wonder if the hardships that I endured were specially brought by God to shape my life and make me a better person. If they were, I am grateful for them because I love who I am today.
"Ashish?" I said turning to him as we sat in our room, enjoying the cold weather. I was sitting in his lap while he had his face snuggled in my neck from behind. His arms are my safe place, my home.
"Hmm." He hummed nuzzling our noses together. My lips turned into a smile and a content sigh escaped my mouth.
"I am happy," I whispered with a smile.
"I am happy, too." He replied and I placed a small kiss over his lips. His smile got bigger as we both looked at each other. I smiled shyly and looked away.
"Hmm, I need some practice." He muttered thoughtfully.
I turned around frowning, "Practice? What for?"
"I suddenly can't remember how to kiss. Can I practice with you? Just for research purposes." He said with an innocent smirk.
"Ashish." My cheeks turned red in shyness at his cheesy yet naughty remark. He leaned his face forward and my breathing accelerated.
"Research." He whispered over my lips and then placed his lips over mine. His lips were so soft over mine that I felt like it was the most delicate thing ever. His kiss evoked so many overwhelming emotions in me that I started to wonder if the kind of happiness I was feeling was a dream or a reality.
As if Ashish could listen to my thoughts, he whispered, "It is not a dream."
My heart leapt out at the intensity of his voice, "I love you." I whispered placing my palms on either side of his face. He held my hand and placed a kiss over it.
"I love you, too." He said and I felt like it was the first time he was saying it. We could feel the emotions running on each other's faces, the moment felt serene and sacred.
"Do you want to catch some sleep before we leave? We have a long flight." He asked lovingly cupping my face. I nodded and he stood up carrying me in his arms to our room.
We were finally going on our honeymoon, the location of which was a secret for me because I wanted it to be. I always wanted to visit a snowy place since I have never seen snow but most of all, I have never been anywhere so I wanted to make some beautiful memories in a wonderful place with my husband.
I kept my head on his chest and closed my eyes snuggling close to him.
______The next day, after having breakfast with our family, Ashish and I left for the airport. I grinned at him as we reached the airport and placed our luggage inside. He laughed at my behaviour.
"Stop grinning," He said chuckling.
"This is so exciting," I said jumping a little in joy. He held my hand and pulled me close to himself. His lips carried a smirk while I cowered in nervousness as he leaned closer to me. I started to blush profusely at his closeness, seeing that we were in a public place.
He leaned towards my ear and whispered, "I didn't know the thought of our honeymoon turned you on." My cheeks turned redder at his comment.
We were brought back from our own world with the voice of announcements at the airport. I pulled back from him and we stood in the line for a security check. After we were cleared, Ashish held my hand again and we walked towards our flight.
