"What are you staring at?"
It was Wonwoo's deep voice that snapped Junhui from his daydream.
"Hmm?"
Wonwoo pouted, leaving Junhui only more confused. "You really zoned out there for a moment. I was talking to you Hui.."
"I'm sorry Wonwoo.. I'm just a bit tired." Junhui said, what wasn't completely a lie. If he had to be completely honest he was a bit tired, but that wasn't the main reason why he wasn't paying attention to the story Wonwoo was telling him. Because he mostly got distracted by the back haired boy on the other side of the canteen, name Xu Minghao.
The table that was surrounded with the classic 'popular kids'. Guys who played sports and the pretty girls who dated them or who were just there trying to get a hook up. And even though most of them were faking t a lot, it seemed to radiate a lot of happiness.
And then you had Junhui and Wonwoo... Two of the least popular boys at their school who always ate their lunch together. Of course they wanted to be at least a little more popular or have a little group of friends surrounding them. But on the other hand they both really enjoyed their company. So maybe it was for the best if they stuck together.
Even though Wonwoo is Junhui's best friend, he didn't know about Junhui's little secret. Mostly because Junhui himself was really insecure about it and he had no idea how to tell Wonwoo.
He knew he would tell him eventually, but at that moment he didn't really know how, or when. Of course he could trust Wonwoo with his everything. But Wonwoo was also his only friend. They never really talked about crushes in general, let alone about crushing on someone of the same gender. He didn't even know for sure if Wonwoo was into that. What if he might be homophobic?
Junhui wasn't even sure if he liked boys in general. Because Minghao was his first serious crush on a boy ever. But he never had a real crush on a girl either. So that's what made it even harder for Junhui.
"Yah!" Wonwoo flicked Junhui's forehead what made Junhui realize he zoned out again. "Please just act as if you care!"
Wonwoo seemed annoyed by the fact Junhui wasn't paying attention to his story. But before Junhui could apologize Wonwoo already went on. "What were you looking at anyways?"
Wonwoo looked over his shoulder, in the exact same direction Junhui was looking at just a moment ago. "Not that Minghao again." He said, what widened Junhui's eyes.
Again?
Does he know?
"What do you mean, 'again', I don't even know him, I'm telling you-"
"Exactly that, stop denying."
Junhui's cheeks immediately tinted flush red. So he does know about it? How on earth could he even find out about those feelings. It was Junhui's best kept secret so far and he really thought it wasn't that obvious. But apparently Wonwoo had noticed it somehow.
"A-are you joking with me..?"
Junhui just starts laughing, trying to laugh it away as if Wonwoo just told him one hell of a joke. But Wonwoo just stared back in his eyes without much expression. Like Junhui was used from him.
"It's so obvious Hui, it wouldn't even surprise me if that Minghao boy knew it himself. I mean-"
"- no Minghao boy, his name is Minghao!"
Immediately he covers his mouth with both hands as he sunk further away in his chair. He just gave Wonwoo even more evidence.
But Wonwoo only changed his expression to a mischievous smirk, pointing out he was right. "You see..."
Junhui couldn't help but to feel incredibly exposed. So without second thoughts he grabs his backpack and hikes it up his shoulder. Ignoring Wonwoo calling out his name and continuing to the exit of the canteen.
"Dude it was just a joke!" Wonwoo yelled after him.
But Junhui pretended he didn't hear it and kept walking, trying to get away as fast as possible hoping furiously Wonwoo wouldn't follow him. And hew was lucky enough, because Wonwoo stayed in his place.
I'm not gay, I'm not gay, I'm not gay
He tried telling himself over and over again as he kept walking through the hallways. A lot of students gave him concerned looks, but for once he doesn't pay attention to them and he just keeps on walking.
He didn't even understand why he was overreacting on such a little thing. He could've just admitted it in the first place, because Wonwoo did seem okay with it. But for some reason he couldn't bare the stress that shot trough his body the moment Wonwoo came with the confrontation.
Maybe he should've just denied it. But at this moment he was sure that Wonwoo knew. And he knew he had to confront the whole situation soon enough.

It has been a while since Junhui arrived at home. He went straight to his room and dramatically fell on his bed. All he did was stare up to his plain white ceiling and trying to order his thoughts.
Did he really like Minghao?
Proabably... yes..
Does Wonwoo know?
At this moment.. I am afraid he does..
It actually couldn't be more obvious. He ran away after Wonwoo kept asking about it. Not even to mention he corrected him after Wonwoo called him "that Minghao boy".
He fucked up..
Junhui knew he was bad with confrontations. They seemed scary so he always took the easiest option: running away from it. But now he realized, he couldn't run away from his problems forever. So it might be for the best if he accepted his faith and faced this one.
And as if it was planned, his phone started ringing. As he expected, the caller-id said "Wonu emoboy"
With a deep sigh he picked up.
Here we go... he thought to himself.
"Why are you calling Wonu?"
"Stop calling me Wonu, you know how much I hate that, bitch." Wonwoo said, but a silent chuckle followed anyways. "And I guess it's pretty clear why I called you. You ran away out of sudden. Don't you even think about taking a week off and leaving me alone again!"
Junhui could cleary hear he pissed him off.
"Come to my house in 15 minutes" was all that Junhui could say.
For a little while it was quiet on the other side of the phone and Junhui could imagine Wonwoo's face while he doubted.
"My next class starts in 2 minutes! I can't come now. The fact that you get straight A's by just sleeping doesn't mean I'm able to do that too!"
"15 minutes." Junhui said again calm. "And I work hard to get good grades, stop saying that, ass."
A deep sigh was heard. For about a minute is was quiet on the other side of the line and Junhui was almost afraid that Wonwoo hung up. But after the moment of silence he finally replied. "I'll be there.. "
"Great, see you Wonu." And with that he hung up.
The time has came that he had to face his "problem". Nor he wanted it or not.
With a defeated sigh he buried his face in his pillow. This will be one hell of an afternoon... He thought.
