The First and Second Task

Harry's POV.

I learned that the first task had to deal with dragons. Now I am in the tent listening to what I need to accomplish. I need to get a golden egg from a nesting mother. I ended up with the Hungarian horntail, the most vicious of dragons. 

We had the wand weighing ceremony earlier in the week, we did the ceremony individually, with no one but Ollivander in the room with us, which helped keep my new wand a secret. I got out of Snape's class, he wasn't too pleased.

So, waiting in the tent, for my turn, I think about what I plan to do. After the other champions have gone, I stand by the exit of the tent, waiting for Cedric to finish up his turn.

I hear cheers and applause, then see Cedric leave the stadium. I hear the announcer introduce me, that's my cue to leave the tent. 

I see the dragon chained up by her nest, I sigh at the use of a chain. I look at the dragon, then at her nest. I can see the glimmer of the golden egg. I decided to just be simple, "Accio Golden Egg" I cast, using my wand. The golden egg shoots from the nest and straight towards me. I catch the egg and return to the tent, before the dragon can chase after me, since the arena is magically protected, keeping the dragon in it. 

Everyone is silent, probably expecting something more spectacular, this will probably lead Ron to ignore me longer, so it works well in my favor. The judges award me points, for being smart about it and for being the fastest. Ironically, it only puts me in second place, since they wanted something more daring and more of a spectacle.

The Gryffindor common room is celebrating my completion of the first task, I just want to go to bed. After an hour or so of celebrating, living up to the boy-who-lived character, I told the twins I was heading to bed, tired from the stress and nerves from the task. They tell me they will see me in a bit. I go up to change, taking the egg with me, and take the time to look at the egg.

I notice it has fish carved into it, along with some mermaids. I then begin to think that the egg needs to be opened underwater. I decide to do all of that tomorrow and place the egg in my trunk, before shrinking the trunk and tucking it back in my pocket. I then lay down on my cot, and go to sleep.

I woke up after three hours, to an empty room. I hear the cheering downstairs and realize that the celebration must still be going on. Using this time to my advantage, I write a not to Fred and George, charmed so that only they could read it, and leave it on one of their beds. I grab my mask and cloak putting them in my pocket, before I turn into my Pheonix form and fly out their window, past the wards; where I then change back to my normal form. I pull out the mask and cloak and apparate to muggle London. 

I land in the alley that I have come to use the most. Sadly, no one is planning to hurt anyone, so I have to actually go find my food, instead of it coming to me. I sniff the air, and smell a drunk person. I smile a little, knowing I found my prey. I wait at the edge of the alley, waiting for him to walk by. I cast a wandless imperious, forcing the man to enter the alley. Once he is in deep enough, I cast a notice-me-not charm and a silencing charm. Then I eat my meal. I eat until all that is left is bones. I turn his body into a rock and tuck it in my pocket.

I disapparate back to Hogwarts, then fly back to Fred's and George's room as a pheonix, as I land I see the twins asleep in their beds. I shake my head and go sit on my cot, pulling out the rock and placing it in my trunk, then pulling out my grimoire to create a new spell. I had this idea for a spell, from the acid that the priest sprinkled on me. I create a spell that causes the skin to melt off of you, along with one to sizzle, and another to make the skin feel like it is burning when it actually isn't. 

Around the time I finish my third spell, the twins start to wake up. They see me there and jump out of bed over to me. "What have you been doing, Harry?" Fred asks.

"I've been adding to my grimoire. How are your pranks coming along?" I reply.

"Good, we are stumped on this project though. We are trying to make a candy-like thing that gives the eater gills, like a fish, making it difficult to breathe. We can't quite get the potion for it right though. We don't know what we are missing," They rant, switching back and forth between each other.

"Have you thought of using gillyweed?" I ask them.

Their eyes widen, "Why didn't we try gillyweed?" They yell at each other, in sync.

They both jump up and get dressed, then go on their mission to finish their prank. I shake my head, before pulling out a book on the Dark Arts to read, since I had nothing else to do.

Over the course of the next month, I eat a few people, in muggle London, and figure out the egg. I am now standing on a dock, preparing for the second task. I have to find something/someone that means a lot to me, that has been stolen. It is placed in a mermaid village in the Black Lake. I plan to use my creature to get the task done, I plan to just hold my breath and swim to the village, seeing as I also don't need to breathe as much air as normal humans do. I told the judges I plan to use gillyweed since I can't tell them otherwise. The twins played their prank a while back, it worked. Ron looked so stupid, he almost died, that was what made it funnier. The twins got a howler for that prank, they just shrugged it off, not even paying it any mind. I hear the bell go off, signaling the start of the race. I put my hand up to my mouth an swallow, that way people think I did actually take gillyweed. I then jump into the water and start my descent.

I reach the village, not even feeling the need to breathe in the slightest bit. I see four people tied down. Hermione, Ron, Fleur's sister, and Blaise. I knew that Fleur was out of the competition since her spell didn't work right. I grab Blaise and Fleur's sister, before swimming away.

I arrive at the top first, I hand the people waiting, both Blaise and Fleur. Then I pull myself out of the water. Fleur thanks me for saving her sister, even though I didn't need to. I tell her it was no problem, then head towards Barty.

"Did you actually swim all the way to the bottom of the lake, without any breathing aid?" He asks me.

"Of course you would notice I didn't actually take anything to help me," I reply.

I was awarded first place, for saving two people, even though I didn't need to. The second place was awarded to Cedric, followed by Viktor, then Fleur.

Now we wait for the final task, in a month.
