Warnings: panic attack description, fluff overall

Waking up alone again didn't surprise you even a little bit. You got used to it after three years, but some stress still stayed. However, when you saw another sticky note, like the other thousands you already read, it was obvious that he was on a mission. Again.

Slowly sitting up and stretching stilled muscles, a small groan escaped your mouth. Despite sleeping around eight hours, you were still tired. As usual.

Placing your feet on the floor, you shudder from the cold surface. Sometimes it was soothing, especially when he had nightmares. It was a touch of reality, that could bring the roaring mind to peace. But right now the cold was rather a nuisance.

Moving on with your day, you couldn't imagine that something could go wrong.

Just another day, right?

Well, obviously no.

You were sitting at the bar when you heard the elevator stopping at your floor. The moment its door opened, Clint rushed in, screaming your name.

"You have to go to the med bay, we can't calm Tony down!"

Hearing the first half of this sentence you thought that something really bad happened, but the second one confused you. Why would he be hard to calm down? Did he have a panic attack?

Running alongside the archer, you entered the elevator and nervously ordered Friday to move it. Rapidly tapping the foot on the ground, you waited for the elevator to reach the med bay floor. The moment the doors open you rushed inside, following Tony's screams of fright. He wasn't in pain, nor it sounded like a usual panic attack. It was different, way different.

"Get it off of me! Get it off!"

Slamming the doors open and pushing through the staff, you abruptly stopped, in deep shock.

It was a tail.

Long, red, black and gold snake tail. It started at Tony's waist and was at least five meters long (16'4) and right now, it was wiggling, smacking people around him away.

You registered Doctor Strange standing next to him, trying to calm him down. He noticed you standing there with wide eyes. Grabbing your hand, he quickly forced you next to your lover and told you to calm him down.

"Tony, what's going on?" You managed to speak with a dry throat.

"Tell them to take that off, take it away" he kept mumbling and threw himself into your arms, trying to hide from the outside world. He was still in his armour, but where tail started metal looked broken off, like it was blown apart from the inside. There wasn't any damage that you could see directly on him, except for snake tail and scales that you saw on his face.

You looked at Strange, wanting answers.

"We were fighting with sorcerers who weren't too good at casting fighting spells and somehow one of them cursed him. I don't know how to reverse it, I never saw anything like this before."

Slightly nodding your head you petted Tony's head and whispered little nothings into his hair to calm him down.

After what felt like forever, his trembling stopped and with that clanking of his armour as well. You realised that he passed out. Slowly laying him down on the hospital bed, you wiped his cheeks.

Strange still stood there awkwardly fidgeting with his cloak.

"Is there any way you can reverse this?"

"Well, as far as I know, no, but who knows. I will better go and find a solution. I also think that he will be acting like a naga, so I will send you a list of how nagas work. If anything happens, reach me imminently" Stephen returned to his serious Sorcerer Supreme state and left the room using a portal.

You quietly sighed, trying to wrap your mind around what just happened.

This is going to be something different from now on.

After carrying him to your shared room and resting him there, you decided to take a shower. In the middle of the day.

Water made its way down your body while soothing your busy mind. After all, it was a lot to take in.

For God's sake, your boyfriend turned into giant half-snake! You had the right to not know what to do.

Deciding on ending your bath, you stopped the water. Noticing puddle on the expensive tiles and seeing your already tired face you knew this will be the most challenging thing you and Tony ever faced.

You heard some rustling and movement in the room, so you quickly changed to confront Tony. Hopefully, he won't have another attack now.

"Are you calm now?" You asked while coming out of the bathroom.

"I am literally a half-snake and I have the right to panic, don't I?" He snapped at you.

Tony was laying on the bed, his upper half resting against the headboard. Pouted lips, furrowed brows and crossed arms answered your unspoken question about his current emotional state.

"Are you seriously acting like angry five years old over being turned into a half-snake? You are unbelievable"

"You still love me, don't you?" After he said that, he become paler, fully understanding what he just asked "I mean... I know I'm snake and all, but that doesn't end it, right?"

Softly smiling, you kissed his nose.

"Of course I do. Besides, that handsome doctor will fix this."

"Hey!"

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Really tho, you are so much alike-" you didn't finish that sentence as a pillow was thrown in your face.

Glaring at your reptile boyfriend, you threw the pillow back at him. He got smacked right in the face. With a satisfied grin, you laid beside him, cuddling into him. He felt more scaly, especially the skin on his back, but it wasn't an unpleasant feeling. Smooth scales were warm and rather pleasant to touch.

"It feels different Tony, but we will manage. I didn't leave after you blasted my face after a nightmare in the lab and I'm not leaving you now."

"I love you" his words were muffled as he hid his face in your chest.

"I know"
