The Mark

{"Katie baby.." I hear my mom say and I sigh.

"What happened?" I ask her and she appears before me.

"Your body is to weak to heal so your hunter shut herself up."

"But I need her!"

"I know Katie, give her time, just try not to get into anymore predicaments." She says.

"Mom why did my own mate attack me?" I ask and feel tears fill my eyes.

"I don't know love, but you two were fated to each other for a reason. Now I'm gonna heal you and you gotta be careful." She says and I nod.}

I gasp awake and shoot up, holding my throat. "DAD SHE'S AWAKE!" I hear Carter say and he darts from the room.

"My hunters shut herself away, because of all the damage from the poisons that's been in my system." I say to Keith as my dad runs in.

"Fuck thank God you're okay babygirl." He says hugging me.

"Her hunter as shut herself away." Keith says and I nod.

"What the hell!?" I hear Carter say and I shrug.

"Where's Kaley?" As soon as I ask she appears in the room, her eyes pink.

"I'm here Katie, I was having...issues." She says and I smile slightly.

"You're hurt." I frown and feel a burning on my arm.

"So are you." She says and I pull my shirt leave up. My mark is faintly on my arm.

"It's coming back." They all say shocked.

"Cause the hunter in me cares for Kaley." I say and she smiles.

"Daniel has gone missing." She says and the burning stops.

"Her hunter is afraid of her mate." Carter says and I shake my head.

"Hell no. I'll be damned if I show his ass fear." I say and close my eyes.

{"Katie?" I hear a small voice.

"Yes. Look we can't show him fear." I say and I watch a figure step in front of me. She looks like me but has black hair, white eyes, and is dressed in a cloak.

"I know but he's our mate."

"You're my hunter, I need you more than him." I say and I watch her nod.

"Names Kat." She says and I smile. "I'll come back." She says and I nod before opening my eyes}

"What happened? Your eyes are all white." I hear Carter say.
I blink and I see Carter relax.

"I was talking to my hunter." I say and wince when I feel the burn in my arm. I smile as the mark reappears darker than before.

"Wow, what did you say?" Keith ask.

"I told her I needed her more than my mate." I say and smile.

"True." Carter says and I get up.

"I'm no longer the same girl." I say and walk back to my room. I quickly look around and smile. Kaley walks in behind me and smirks.

"So let out your true form." She says and I chuckle and call Kat forward. I close my eyes and open them a few minutes later.

"Im Kat." I say and watch Kaley form.

"I'm Kay." She says and I smile.

"So we're bound together?" I ask and she nods.

"Yes, I hope you know that now you're out, Daniels gonna come back." I shrug and smile.

"Let him, I don't need him." I say and she smiles.

"We're gonna get along just great." She's says. I nod and push Katie back forward.

"Wow." I say and watch my hair go back to red.

"She's amazing." Kaley says and I nod, before I fell another presences in the room.

"Daniel.." I growl and look around.

"Come out you asshole." Kaley says and I chuckle.

"My sister and my pathetic mate." He says and appears in my window.  I whimper but shake my head.

"Fuck you." I hiss and feel Kat trying to take over.

{"Back down Kat, you'll kill him."

"He needs to be taught a lesson." She says and I sigh.

"Give me some more time." I say and she nods.}

"Awe how cute, you can talk to her." He says and I grab blood rose from my pocket, slowly looking it over.

"I will not hesitate to put a bullet in you. Mate or not." I say and I watch his eyes change to icy blue.

"I won't stop her either." Kaley says. "You've been a major dick and deserve it." She says and he lunges towards me. I shoot the gun and he stops and holds his shoulder.

"I told you." I say and chuckle, he growls and disappears. I wince and look at my left arm. "Shit hurting him physical hurts me." I say tracing the wound as it starts healing.
