Sorry, just a filler for now, I'll go into detail in the author note at the end of the chapter.

...

The mantel swiftly pivots around, the Doctor holds me to his chest as he keeps his eyes on the struggling android; the latter desperately trying to free its blade from the pristine wood.

"Doctor!" Rose shouts as she sees our forms reappear from the other side of the fireplace.

Completely ignoring her, I pounce past her to the futuristic fire extinguisher from the wall behind her, quickly unhooking the safety pin and throwing it gracefully to my bonded that still stood near the trapped android. The Vortex tightly wound itself around robot, keeping its struggling form in place as the Doctor adjusts the extinguisher in his arms. Finally holding it correctly, he unleashes its content all over the droid, the glass and metal of the android seizing in place.

"Excellent!" Mickey beams from beside Rose, holding her only slightly behind himself; a protective instinct that I fully respect. "Ice gun!" I smile slightly at his innocence and enthusiasm.

"Not quite," I laugh, interrupting my bonded before he had the chance to correct him, "it's a fire extinguisher." I look over the glass casing of the gun-shaped tool, "A more advanced version, of course." I clarify.

"Where did that thing come from?" Rose says, looking over the mask of the android.

"Here" My soulmate replies, rocking on the balls of his feet as he begins examining the outside of the machine. He nearly bouncing around it as he circles the robot, his smile growing in excitement as he looks at the beautiful and clever casing of this complex droid.

"So why is it dressed like that?" Mickey quickly asks.

"I'd say it's some basic camouflage protocol," I reply, cringing slightly at the atrocious attempt of the face. "shame about the face though, otherwise I'd say it is a nice job with the French-style needlework."

"I agree." My Bonded replies offhandedly as he removes the mask from the android.

I nearly gasp in awe at the beautiful clockwork; my Bonded, however, is less reserved about his appreciation.

"Oh," He sighs, a grin reforming, "you are beautiful!" His eyes moves around the androids clear head. "No, really, you are. You're gorgeous, not as gorgeous as my soulbound," he cheekily looks around to give me a wink, I roll my eyes fondly in response, "but wow, your stunning." he's talking to the android again. "I mean, Look at that. Space age clockwork, I love it" He's rambling now. "I've got chills!" He lifts the left sleeve of his coat, turning on the spot to show myself and the two humans that he does, in fact have chills. "Listen, seriously, I mean this from the heart, and," is he still talking to it? "by the way, count those, it would be a crime," he dramatically pauses, "it would be an act of vandalism to disassemble you. But that won't stop me." he raises his sonic screwdriver to eye level, ready to start taking apart the masterpiece.

As if it knew what was about to happen; which, let's be honest, with the clockwork like that, it most definitely did. It beams away, it's body glowing a bright white before disappearing before our eyes.

I sigh, "you know, if you cut the monologue," I look accusingly at my mate, "he wouldn't have got away." The Doctor smiles guiltily, yet again rocking on the balls of his feet as he nervously rubs the back of his neck.

"Where did it go?" Mickey asks the question that I knew the two humans were wanting to know.

"Just a short range teleport." I reply, though I was still slightly annoyed at my soulmate, I was physically unable to stay angry with him for long; so, I give him an amused smile, my initial reaction to the escapee android. Smiling in relief at my amusement, the Doctor begins to scan the ship for the droid.

"Can't have gone far." He walks back to the mantel, signalling for me to join him. " Could still be on board." I walk over to him, standing proudly by his side as he rests his hand on the lever on the underside of the fireplace mantel.

"What is it?" Rose asks, intrigue in her eyes.

"Don't go looking for it." The Doctor dodges the question, scenarios stirring behind his eyes.

"Where you going?" She fires back, taking a step towards the both of us, temped to join us, before she resumes back to Mickey's side.

"Back in a sec." Is all my mate answers, pushing the lever with a dramatic flourish.

'You must know they're going to go look for it.' I send over my amusement, but hide the approval of their obvious curiosity, to my bonded.

'I know.' He groans in response, the mantle yet again spinning on its axis.

...

I know, a very short chapter. I am so sorry for the delayed  updates, as I've been super busy with University at the moment and have been suffering from chronically low  motivation. In only a month, I will be finishing uni for the year, so hopefully by then I'll be able to update more (no promises, as life can happen, but hopefully I can).

However, I would like to thank every single person that reads, votes, and comments on this story, we're nearly up to 1000 reads, that's insane; it means so much to me that you guys are reading voting on this story, it's a real moral booster! So, thank you guys so much!

Until next time,
