~Andy’s POV~

I awoke in a hospital room with 4 other beds. There were only guys in this room. I sat up slowly looking around at all the beds.

I don’t even remember being brought in here… but wait. I remember struggling against the paramedics and then a sharp pain in my neck.

They drugged me. That’s why I don’t remember being brought into this room. It makes sense now, the only thing that makes sense.

The others were beginning to wake up now, they must have been drugged too.

There was a look of utter confusion on one guys face as he sat up, wincing. I noticed bandages around his wrists. His face was nice though… despite the empty, dull look in his eyes. His eyes were brown and his hair was black. He was dressed in a hospital gown.

One by one everyone seemed to come to consciousness. Everyone had looked as confused as the first guy had... I’d already had my moment of confusion.

We all stared at each other. No one said a word.

I didn’t know what to do but luckily someone else broke the silence. Well actually not someone, it was a door.

Everyone turned their attention to the man that had walked into the room. He was tall and looked clean shaven, dressed in the doctors uniform.

“Well, good morning guys.” He smiled at all of us but no one seemed to react.

The doctor just continued to smile. “I’m guessing none of you have spoken to each other yet.” He paused and glanced at one small boy sitting opposite me. “But I will introduce you all.”

He walked over to a bed with a boy that had long red-ish brown hair and brown eyes. His skin was tanned and he didn’t look too happy to be here.

The doctor picked up the clipboard at the end of the bed. “Okay guys, this-“, he gestured to the boy, “Is Ashley Purdy.”

Ashley looked round at us all, he didn’t say anything.

The doctor coughed, “When I tell everyone else your name, I expect you to say ‘hello’.”

Ashley frowned, “Hi…” he murmured.

The doctor sighed before replacing the clip board and moving onto the bed beside Ashley’s. He picked up the clip board.

“This is Jacob Mark Pitts, but apparently he prefers Jake.” He looked to Jake.

“Hi.” Jake grumbled.

The doctor then moved onto the next boy’s bed after replacing the clip board. He picked up the next boy’s clip board and studied it for a second.

“This is Christian Mora slash Coma. He prefers CC.”

CC looked at us all quickly, “Hey…”

The doctor smiled slightly before moving onto my bed. He picked up my clip board and I waited for him to introduce me to everyone.

“This is Andrew Dennis Biersack, he prefers to be called Andy.”

“Hey.” I said quietly. They all seemed to be surprised at the depth of my voice.

The doctor then moved onto the small boy’s bed.

“This is Jeremy Miles Ferguson… he likes to be addressed as Jinxx though.”

We all waited for Jinxx to say hello to us but he stayed silent. After a minute he hesitantly lifted his arm and waved at us all before lying back.

I wonder why he didn’t say hello using his voice. I guess I’ll have to wait to find out.

“I expect you all to make conversation when you’re alone…but don’t annoy each other, okay? Bye.” The doctor then left the room.

The first one to speak was Ashley.

“I don’t like him.” He stated, crossing his arms.

We all turned to look at him apart from the small boy in the bed next to me, he turned away from us all and curled up in his sheets.

“Yeah, his smile was creepy!” CC laughed.

I found a small smile appearing on my face when CC spoke. He seemed rather happy; I wonder why he was roomed with us.

Jake nodded, “It was…” he trailed off. His voice was void of all emotion. I could already guess what was different about him. He seemed to be depressed. I could tell from the way that he moved and dull empty look in his eyes. I’m like that, too.

I felt like I should say something so I spoke, “As long as he’s not in here all the time it should be okay, I guess…” I trailed off feeling rather awkward.

Everyone was silent for a while before I heard CC start yelling.

“OH MY GOD GUYS THERES A FUCKING DRAGON! IT’S GOING TO KILL US!” CC screamed, he looked fucking terrified.

I stared around the room, there wasn’t anything there.

I was about to get out of my bed but then Ashley was already walking across the room to where CC was sitting screaming.

I watched as Ashley comforted CC, reassuring him that it was okay, the dragon wasn’t really there.

I think CC was schizophrenic.

It made sense; he had a distant look in his eyes that I hadn’t noticed before. It’s like he’s not even really here.

I have no idea what’s wrong with Ashley though, he seemed fine. But lots of people are good at acting.

The room went silent and it was then that I heard a strangled sobbing sound coming from the bed that belonged to Jinxx.

I was up and out of my bed as soon as I realised that Jinxx was crying. He looked so fragile, I mean yeah I know I’m skinny but he just looked so small and broken. His body was shaking.

I knelt beside Jinxx on the bed and gently touched his shoulder.

He jolted and turned to look at me, his cheeks were red but the rest of his face was very pale and he had tears streaming down his face. He seemed to be gasping for breath.

“Jinxx, it’s okay.” I told him, pulling him into my lap. I didn’t exactly know him but he needed help, he looked scared… but it was a different type of scared from what CC had been.

He clung onto me, digging his nails into my arms. I didn’t mind though, I rubbed his back and let him rest his head against my chest.

He was calming down now. Letting out strangled sobs every couple seconds but they weren’t as heart wrenching as before.

After he had completely calmed down he pulled back and looked up at me. His eyes were blue like mine and were full of emotion. He opened his mouth and closed it again. He repeated this for a minute before sitting back on the bed. I watched as he lifted his arms beginning to frantically wave his hands around.

I think it was sign language.

He waved his hands around again and again, signing the same thing which I’m guessing was him saying thank you.

“Are you saying ‘Thank you’?” I asked him.

He nodded and smiled faintly.

“You’re welcome… just please sleep now. You look exhausted.

He nodded and got back under the covers, closing his eyes.

I returned to my own bed, everyone else was asleep. So I joined them.
