"I'M CHARLIE" she smiled and stuck her hand out for Margaret to shake.
"Why, what a lovely young lady!" she exclaimed and met with the others.
"Now, what fun will we be getting into this trip Margaret?" Xavier said, wrapping his arm around Charlie.
"I didn't hire you for fun Xavier" she said and rolled her eyes.
Xavier looked to Brooke and nodded in her direction.
"Is there a medic here or something?" Brooke said from the van.
Margaret rushed in to look at the man, gasping as she saw his condition.
"Oh good heavens, we need to take him to the infirmary" she spoke calmly.
—
"Rita, we have a case" Margaret said
After a while Rita deemed the man dehydrated.
"It's nice to formally meet you guys, I'm Rita" she greeted, and shook all of their hands.
"Are you an actual nurse or...?" Chet asked as he moved towards Charlie and Montana.
"Don't worry, I work at the ER in Hawthorn Hospital the rest of the year." she laughed
"Nice" Ray said and the group followed Margaret out.
—
"I'll show you the cabins, follow me" she said and started walking.
"Girls shower in the morning and Boys at night" she said and they all rolled their eyes.
"Girls are Red and Boys are Blue" Margaret explained, "Don't even try to make purple" she demanded.
"Hm" Montana said and looked at Charlie with a grin.
"This is the girls cabin, the boys cabin is down that way" she pointed down the trail
"I'll let you guys freshen up a bit, we have a campfire to attend" she said
—
Later that night they all gathered around the fire Ray started
Charlie sat next to Xavier and Chet sat alone, snuggled up with a blanket.
Montana and Brooke were sat with Ray on another bench.
Charlie shivered as it got cold, Xavier didn't notice, he was paying attention to Rita who was talking about the history of the camp.
Chet had been watching her since she fell asleep on him.
"Charlie, come here" he said and opened his arms for her.
"Damn Chet, remember Margaret said not to make purple." Montana said and Chet chuckled.
Charlie got up and went over to Chet, letting him wrap the blanket around her.
"Warm?" he asked and she shook her head with a teasing smile.
Chet pulled her close and looked down at her.
"Better?" he asked and she nodded.
—
"This place is insane, have you heard the stories about what happened here?" Ray said
"Yeah, I heard about the massacre in 1970" Charlie said, playing with the hem of Chet's shirt.
"The anniversary is soon, for the killings" Chet said, making Charlie shiver.
"It's all so..surreal" Brooke started "What happened to them, it's almost as if it didn't happen" she said
"Yeah, as soon as it happened, no one heard about it" Charlie added, causing Chet to squeeze her shoulder.
As everyone continued to talk about the Redwood massacre, Charlie looked up at Chet with a sympathetic smile.
"I didn't mean to scare you earlier" she said, and looked down.
"It's okay Charlie, no worries" he said, his eyes went from her eyes to her lips.
He started to lean in and Charlie did too.
"You're gorgeous" he said and lifted his hand to cup her cheek.
Just as they were about to kiss...
"So, you guys are talking about Jingles?" someone interrupted.
