"WE HAVE TO BURN IT ALL"
"What!?"
"We're not burning shit okay? We need to find an exit plan" Margaret said.
"Yeah she's right" Chet said and Brooke turned to Xavier.
"We need to make a signal fire!" he suggested.
"You need to calm down" Margaret added
Xavier stood his ground, a torch of fire in his hands.
Margaret hit him in the back of the head with a rock and he fell unconscious.
"Xavier!" Charlie said and got on her knees next to him.
"Forgive me, but I had to stop him before he hurt someone! Let's get him to a cabin" Margaret said.
"What the hell" Charlie said to herself.
"We can't stay here, we have to rally, go through the woods. We'll find help eventually" Montana suggested.
"No. Those woods are a maze, we'll be walking around in circles" Margaret said
"She's right" Chet said.
"You're agreeing with this?" Charlie said and Chet nodded.
"It's safer" he said
"We can't trust her" Charlie said with gritted teeth.
"Suit yourself, stay out here, I'm going with or without you" he snapped.
Charlie nodded, shocked, tears brimming her eyes.
—
Charlie walked into the woods hoping to find some sort of help.
She wondered for 30 minutes.
She ended up turning back and going to the cabin.
She knocked on the door, shivering.
"Look who it is" Chet said as he opened the door.
"Did you find help?" He asked her and she shook her head.
She felt light headed.
Charlie stumbled, falling backwards into someone.
"Woah, Woah" Chet said "Take it easy" he said.
"I-I might die" she said "I don't wanna die" she begged.
"I won't let you die" Chet said to her.
"Yesterday I saw two campers camping on the other side of the lake. A few of us could go. They might have a car" Margaret said
"I-I'll go, I have frost bite, I won't last much longer" Charlie said and started to stand.
"No, you need to stay here" Chet said and pushed her back down.
"Chet'll go" Xavier said.
"What?" he whispered.
"Me too, I need to get help quick" Charlie said.
"Okay come on" he said and helped Charlie to stand.
"I've got it" Charlie said and followed Margaret out the door.
"You two are very brave. God bless you" She said.
—Once on the boat, the silence was very awkward.
Charlie shivered as she sunk into Chet's jacket that she had on.
"I don't see anything out there. Not even a light" Margaret said.
"Don't worry Margaret, we're gonna find help" Chet assured.
"We're gonna get out of this nightmare" Charlie added.
There was another silence, before Margaret chillingly spoke,
"Do you ever think about death, Charlie? I thought about it pretty hard when I was in that pit." She said and it took them both off gaurd.
"Wait Wha-" Chet started but Margaret cut him off.
"It's terrifying. The rot and the maggots, and your insides turn to jelly." she continued.
"And what if that's just it? You die, and then nothing. Just big, black nothing."
"God judges the righteous and the wicked, for when the cold hand of death squeezes the last breath from your lungs, it'll be too late to ask for forgiveness." she finished creepily
"Make peace with your maker, confess your sins" She said to them both.
"Why are you so worried about my soul? Because I can see your torment. I know you're harboring a terrible secret." He shot back.
"What is it Margaret? Tell us, enlighten us maybe" Charlie said
"For all your outward femininity, I can tell the real girls from the fake ones" Margaret said
"Fuck you Margaret" She growled.
"You don't know anything about me" she shot back.
"Yeah, you're so pure. You have nothing to confess or admit to?" Charlie said.
"Actually I do" she started "There's nothing on the other side of the lake, I just needed to get each one of you alone" she said
"W-What?" Chet said
"So I can kill you" she hissed, whipping out a blade.
Charlie let out a pained scream as Margaret jabbed the weapon into her stomach.
"CHARLIE!"
