"You really wanna....toss your life away, Reggie?" Freddie asked him in between coughs. "Once word get out that you killed me... you can kiss that little scholarship goodbye" He half-smiled with blood dripping down his mouth. He was always gotta be a smart ass.
Smoothing out the wrinkle in his t-shirt, "My future is in tack." Reggie responded confidently. "I will be making big money shooting hoops, fucking all the baddest hoes in every city I touch, while you'll be withering somewhere in the woods. After what you did to my cousins...Nobody is going to find you and your peoples gon' be working for me and my boys."
"Yeah, okay." Freddie spat blood in front of him, causing Reggie to jump back. "My crew will never work for some clowns like y'all or yo bitch ass daddy! You ain't about this life! You caught me slipping...Yeah, I give you that! But that gunplay? Nah! You can hang that up."
"You talk a lot shit for nigga that's tied up and got two shot guns pointed at their head." Shorty voiced his two cents.
Reggie checked out the blood splatter on his shoes. "You know these was fresh out the box, right?" He stated, shaking his head in disappointment. He nodded at Shorty and on command, Shorty swung the barrel of the rifle upside Freddie's head, knocking him unconscious. A shriek escaped my mouth before I could cover it. I jumped back behind the wall, praying that they didn't hear me. I closed my eyes tightly to fight the tears from coming down my face.
"Aye, y'all hear something?" I overheard one them ask. I nervously scanned the kitchen searching for a place to hide and found a spot under a nearby table next to some boxes. The table cloth was long enough to cover me so I wouldn't be seen but it was clear enough so I could see through it a little bit.
Shit! Shit! Shit!
My heart was beating straight through my chest. If they found me, that was it!
The quiet one, Jason suddenly stopped inside of the kitchen and he looked around, clutching onto his shot gun searching for what startled Reggie.
"You see anything, Jay?" Shorty yelled from the living room.
Coming towards the table, "Nah.. I don't see nothing." Jason responded turning back to the living room. I didn't hear Freddie's voice anymore and I began to get worried all over again. They were laughing, giggling and planning out what to do next with him. Shorty was ready to take him out but Reggie wanted him to suffer slowly before he died. He was fixed on burying him alive in the woods.
That was not happening!
Moments later, a rummaging noise started coming from the backdoor that was boarded up by the kitchen sink. I peeped the door on my way in and had a feeling it wasn't screwed down but chose a different entry.
I automatically thought somebody saw us walk towards the back of the house and decided to do their own investigation. But it was two men dressed in dark clothing stepping inside the house, holding what appeared to be a few grocery bags. I squinted my eyes to trying to get a better look at their face through the cloth but was unsucceful.
They immeditatly stopped in their tracks when they noticed the all the lights in the living room were turned on. They whispered a few words amongst themselves and quietly dropped their bags on the floor and pulled their guns out from under their shirts.
This time it was Reggie who re-entered back in the kitchen because of the unknown noise and was surprised to see guys slightly bigger than him with their guns already drawn. Reggie frantically reached for his pistol but it was too late, the husky one wearing a fitted cap stepped forward and fired the first shot striking Reggie in his right shoulder, causing him to crash on the ground he screamed in agonizing pain. It was only a matter of seconds before Shorty and Jason came in guns blazing turning everybody into Swiss cheese.
