I was on my third double shot and we wasn't even in the air two hours. The slight turbulence in the beginning of the flight had caught me off guard and I almost lost my shit ready to cause a panic thousands of feet in the air. Freddie on the other hand, was cool, calm and collected during all of it. He continued to bob his head to the music he was listening to.I reached for a third one before he grabbed my hand and stopped me."You better slow down before you get nauseous. You know you a light weight." He playfully warned me.
"I feeel fineeee." I slurred a little bit with a slight giggle. I tucked the shot away in my purse and snuggled up against Freddie. Stopping the flight attendant that was walking passed us, "Excuse me, can I get a bottle of water." I asked kindly.
"Coming right up." She nodded and smiled before walking off.
She returned a few moments later with my water and a snack. "Something to put on your stomach." She handed me the items and continued checking on the other passengers in first class.
Freddie reached in his pocket, "Ms!"
She back tracked, "Yes?"
"This is for you," handing her a crispy twenty dollar bill. "Thank you."
"Thank you." She replied tucking the money in her shirt.
I found myself finally drifting off to sleep on Freddie's shoulder. I didn't get much sleep the night before thinking about Athena and the bullshit Freddie has been evolved in the past month. I made a silent promise to myself that I was going to relax this weekend and enjoy myself on this trip.
No more worrying.
"Babe..Babe.." I heard Freddie's voice in the distance. "Babe, wake up."
I slowly opened my eyes and lifted my head up. "What's wrong?" I asked looking around. "The plane okay?"
"Yeah, the plane is okay," he chuckled. "The flight landed...you straight to walk up outta here? Or do I need to call for a wheelchair?"
"Yeah, I'm straight." I stretched in my seat and yawned. I glanced at the time on my phone it was a quarter passed noon.
"Good, cuz its time to have some fun." He got up and grabbed our bags from the overhead compartment.
We made a pit stop and grab something quick to eat before we reached baggage claim. I argued at first fearing our bags would get taken. Freddie explained to me that it takes forever for the luggage to come down and he was right because we were still waiting another fifteen minutes before we got our bags.
"So where are we staying at?" Curiosity was getting the best of me.
"You will see soon, first lets go pick up our ride for the weekend."
"How are we going to get a rental here in Miami?" I lowered my voice, "We not 21."
"You must got amnesia or something because you forgot who you dealing with." He shook his head in disappointment.
"I'm just saying"
I scrolled through my phone looking for things to do in Miami while Freddie handled the car. I checked in with Mrs.Griggs and let her know that we finally made it. After Our brief conversation, She sent a few pictures of Athena playing with her husband's guitar. I had to stop myself from crying because I missed my daughter so much.
