"Bitch, stop playing with me." I laughed in her face, "Ain't no way in hell Freddie fucking with Vixen knowing that bitch for everybody." Quickly dismissing her.
Layla reached for her cell phone from her back pocket , "Girl, what the hell do I have to lie for?" She scrolled through her phone then turned it around, showing me a picture of Freddie and Vixen at the gas station all cuddled up while he pumped the gas."
"That's not going to last long," I turned away from the evidence. "And What? you stalking Freddie now?" The only reason I can see why she had the picture.
"You funny." She chuckled, placing her phone on the table. "But to answer your question I was waiting for Rocko to come out the gas station and that's when I saw them pull up." She rolled her eyes.
"Did Rocko see him?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Nah, Freddie stayed outside the whole time and made Vixen go in to pay. She's been bragging to everybody in Riverborn that she fucking on Neveah's man and since you haven't been showing your face people felt like you knew and was hiding from humiliation. Can't blame em. You look like shit."
"Nobody is hiding plus I knew that bitch wanted Freddie from the start. She would always ask me how we were doing and saying that we was soooo cute and shit." I disgustedly rolled my eyes. Deep down I was pissed that I didn't check her ass sooner but I felt like Freddie wouldn't stoop that low to mess with Vixen. I guess I was wrong.
"Bitches who want your man will always say shit like that."
"Well, thank you for that little bit of info." I got up to throw my trash away. "I just have one more question." I turned back around.
With her head tilted, "What's that?"
"How and the hell did you get with Rocko? He ain't much of looker and he's a complete ass."
"Girl he chose me." She flipped her weave over her shoulder for the millionth time. "Plus he got money. I'm talking about big money."
"Yeah, the money he claimed after my mother's death. Don't be stupid, Layla."
She took a deep breath, "I understand you're upset cuz I used to date Freddie and now I'm messing with your step father. I truly understand your frustration but it's too late for all that now. I'm here you just gotta deal with it." She plopped down in the chair in front of me, "And back to your question, We met back in March when I was walking out of the gym with a few of my homegirls, I first noticed his car, a brand new black Porsche, it was posted right outside the door, he was sitting in the driver's seat talking to Reggie. It didn't take long before he spotted me walking in their direction and he called me over."
I wanted to ask Layla more questions but I didn't need her getting suspicious of me and then running off to Rocko about it. "Well, I'm about to go start this laundry and chill for the rest of the day. If you need something cooked let me know." I left her in the kitchen and went to my bedroom. I grabbed my laundry basket and headed down the old basement stairs. I hate coming in our basement, there was barely any light and I always caught a bad vibe down here; not to mention the centipedes that roamed the floor. I thought I only had my load to do until I saw a stack of his clothes on the floor waiting to be washed. I never understood his purpose of putting dirty clothes on the floor when there was a basket right next to the washing machine.
"Her ass should be down here washing your funky ass boxers." I said under my breath as I tossed each item of clothing in the machine.
Separating my clothes, I pulled my sheets out the basket and noticed spots of blood on them and got upset all over again. Apart of me wondered did Rocko beat on my mother when I wasn't around. I never saw any marks or bruises on her.
