The whole day was awkward as fuck, I kept getting mean glares from all the girls, and the guys who never paid any attention to me suddenly had their eyes on me and it was all because I rode to school with Freddie Kane. Why do people think if you get a ride from someone, y'all fucking?I was at my locker getting my textbooks together for 4th hour, when Layla Rogers, a Senior, approached me with her posse right on her tail. She reminded me of Rachel McAdams from Mean Girls but the ghetto version.
"Wassup with you and Freddie, Neveah?" She stood with her hand on her hip and the other hand placed on the locker. Her posse circled around me like that was going to scare me. I knew Layla and Freddie used to date during my Freshman year of high school. She made it her goal to make sure everybody knew that they were together but that didn't stop him from being in other girls faces.
She's been trying to get back with him ever since he broke with her on the last day of school last year.
I guess I was standing in her way. Who knew?
The late bell was about to ring and I didn't have time for her shenanigans right now.
"Ask Freddie!" I slammed my locker shut and pushed passed her crew.
I guess I embarrassed her because she had the audacity to pull my ponytail causing my head to jerk back. I dropped my school books and faced her head cocked to the side and all, and began punching her all upside her head. She was going to have a dawg ass headache when I was done with her. I had over a year of built up frustration and she was going to catch all of it. Her left hand never lost its grip on my ponytail while she tried to punch with her right. Students began surrounding us and within minutes we had a whole crowd around my locker screaming and cheering. I hated females who only pulled hair in a fight. One way or another she was going to let go I was not about to be the laughing stock of the school.
When you lost a fight at Riverborn High, it was going to stick with you until you graduated and if you really got your ass kicked it was going to stick even longer. Imagine going to your ten year high school reunion and everybody remember you as the fool that got their ass handed to them.
Two other students finally came out the crowd and broke up the fight between Layla and I. The end result...She had swollen eye and I came out with a few scratches on my cheek. Freddie made his way through the crowd and just shook his head when he saw it was me and Layla fighting one another. He grabbed my hand and escorted me away, Layla was pissed when I glanced back her I gave her wink and kept it pushing. One of the students who broke up the fight already had my books in their hand when we approached the school's office.
"Look let me chop it up with the principal." He insisted. "And tell him what happened. I know you ain't start that fight. Layla been on bullshit since I broke up with her ass." He reached and touched my shoulder trying to make good of the situation.
"You still fucking her?" Swapping his hand off me.
He let out a sigh and dropped his head, "Not anymore." He answered while looking back at me with his hands tucked in his pockets.
"I don't have time for this shit right now." I snapped at him."I gotta whole ass baby at home and enough bullshit to that'll make anybody blow their own fucking head off. Fighting bitches that can't let you go." I poked at his chest. "Is NOT on my schedule right now or Eva! Thank you for the ride and everything but I'm good and I can talk to the principal myself." I left him where he was and headed inside the office taking my books out the other students hand.
The principal let me go with a warning and expelled Layla from the school like that was going to stop her antics. I won the battle but she was definitely ready for a war. I can't lie I smiled a little bit walking through the halls after the fight, a few students came up to me and said they were happy Layla finally got her ass handed to her. I didn't want to be known as a fighter but I guess that's better than being a loser.
