Jungkook was taking Taehyung to the rooftop of his apartment building. Holding onto Taehyungs wrist the whole time.Even when there was times Taehyung had thought of releasing his grip from the other. He obliged to the action of Jungkooks.
When opening the door to the rooftop, a gust of wind had blown into their direction.
Taehyungs expectation to be mesmerized by a spectacular view was diminished when he noticed the grey sky's and equally grey smoke off in the distance were factories were.
But he looked over at Jungkook who only had a smitten look plastered on his face.
"You wanted to show me this why? It's grey skies and just buildings." Taehyung pointed out the obvious.
"But you're not looking at the bigger picture, look below you." Jungkook made his way to the edge of the building.
"There's people."
"But are they really people? They can cause identity thief easily, a mere voice recognition can be flawed. There all hiding away behind that mask. What is there to hide from?"
"Than why are you smiling?" Taehyung was confused by the other, he hasn't known him for long. Still strangers in his eyes yet he can't refrain himself from wanting to know what is going inside that mind of his.
"Because I strongly feel, I will succeed In what I believe in. I can picture people living much happier. At least happier than what they are now." Jungkook had a clear picture in his head and one person in particular was fitting his image to live much happier life if he does so.
Maybe it's been his intentions from the start. The reason for him to begin this community all along. He couldn't just accept the fact that they were suppose to hide because they're too hideous.
He lived long enough and experienced many things to know that the masks caused more bad than good. He thought he needed to justify that to his new member.
"What there scared of, is criticism. Because people judge other people. This thing..." He points at his own mask "at least can protect us from societal beauty prosecution."
"But that's the thing Taehyung. When are we ever going to be free from criticism? If we're not judged by our face physically, we're judged by how your body structure is. Kids are still called too fat or too skinny. Than on top of that they believe there face is ugly too. Next thing you know there going to make a government policy were we can't even see our entire being. We'll be computers behind a desk."
Taehyung was going to say something back, but his throat got caught up and was dry. He didn't have any words to defend what he was saying, because in a sense he knew Jungkook was right. But no one says a goddamn thing about it.
"Then you should say that.""Say what?"
"What you just said to me. You should say that on the radio broadcast."
Jungkook nodded his head "I'm planning on saying something along those lines." He looked over at Taehyung who looked out at the city buildings being able to spot the building his dad worked at.
"Hey, you want to come grab a drink at my place? I know I abruptly took you away from the cafe which I assume you were going to get something from there?" Jungkook apologized.
But in Taehyungs head he thought he could buy his own cafe if he wanted to, but of course he didn't say that aloud.
"Sure." He already knew that this was Jungkooks apartment complex because he had said it on there way there. It couldn't hurt to have a drink before he went back home.
They walked to the entrance of his door which Jungkook inserted his house key.
He assumed both his parents were at work, as they are at work during these afternoon hours. He walked into his apartment gesturing Taehyung to come in.
They took of their shoes and Taehyung examines how extremely small it had been in the inside. Two bedroom, one bathroom and an open concept family room and kitchen.
He also realized there was a lady in the kitchen when Jungkook placed his keys on the dark wooden table beside the entrance.
Jungkook left Taehyung momentarily as he walked towards his mother.
Jungkook greeted his mother and raised her mask a bit so that he could place a kiss on her cheek. When he asked her "Hey ma, what are you doing here? Don't you have work?"
Taehyung watched as the lady turned her head towards her son, but back at her the pot in the sink.
"I got fired." She said quietly under her breathe.
"What- why would th-" Jungkook was shocked at the news and was only interrupted when his mother raised her voice.
"It's because of my behavioural issues!" Taehyung heard that loud and clear. He didn't know if he should leave the scene or stay and watch it all unfold. Surely he didn't expect this lifestyle of a man who wants to make great changes.
He watched as Jungkook went to comfort his unemployed mother. The mother stopped what she was doing and cried in her sons arms.
"Eomma, everything will be alright. I'll get another part time job. You rest, I'll finish up cleaning up the kitchen." His mother nodded her head as she walked away from her son and into the closest bedroom.
When the door closed Jungkook finished cleaning up the dirty dishes. " I'm sorry you had to witness that. My family, is going through a rough patch at the moment." Taehyung hummed as a response as he sat himself at the kitchen table.
" I could say my family is as well, in a way." Jungkook nodded back.
"Coffee or tea?"
"Tea. Thank you." Jungkook went to make his tea.
Pouring the hot water in the cup with a tea bag inside the clear water turned to a dewy brown.
Jungkook going back to the counter to grab his own drink he sat on the other side of the table.
"What made you want to join?" Jungkook broke the silence.
But right after his question Taehyung was receiving a call.
"Please excuse for a moment."Taehyung walked out the kitchen and walked into the bathroom, closing the door behind him.
"What."
"Taehyung where are you?"
"It's none of your business."
"It is my business! I'm your mother! You don't get to speak to me that way!"
"I'm not coming home for dinner."
"Kim Taeh-" she couldn't finish her sentence because he had already abruptly ended the phone call.
Walking out of the bathroom, he walked back into the kitchen seeing Jungkook looking at him straight in the eyes.
"Can I stay for the night?"
