All Jungkook could think about was his voice, how beautiful it sounded to his ears. He wondered how his face could be compared to his voice, maybe this is why they had the masks to avoid the prejudice of looks but he couldn't help it.
When Taehyung woke up the next morning he felt comfortable in the warm sheets that covered his body. Lightly rubbing his eyes he got up from the bed and noticed the sleeping figure on the floor. Unknowing what to do he decided to walk over to the sleeping boy and gently tapped his exposed shoulder. Jungkook's body was facing the other direction, but there was no worry to Taehyung as he had his mask on his face already.
Jungkook slightly jostled from his position until he opened his eyes and saw Taehyung as they had their gaze on one another as Jungkook slightly rustled his hair as he sat upwards. "Morning" he was able to mutter brushing his arms for warmth.
"Hi morning, sorry to wake you." Taehyung took a step back from where he was sleeping leaning backwards to place his arms on the bed. Jungkook looks over to him, "don't worry about it, it's fine what's up?"he said finally getting off of the floor, he leaned his back on the closest wall with his hands in his pockets. That action alone caused a butterfly sensation to Taehyung's stomach and he was tempted by the devil just stare into his soul, how could one look so beautiful at this time in the morning. But Taehyung had more control then that, he simply asked "wanna go for a coffee?"
Jungkook tilted his head before he shrugged, "Yeah sure. You can change here I'll go in the washroom." he said while grabbing a pair of clothes from his closet and out of the room. Taehyung's clothes was the exact same ones that he wore the day before considering he wasn't really planning on sleeping over but did so anyways.
When Taehyung walked out of Jungkook's room he received a phone call and when he looked down he saw that it was from his dad and he immediately had declined and looked at the boy in front of him who was in a black bomber jacket, paired with a equally black t-shirt and dark blue ripped denim jeans. The ensemble was quite on point if Taehyung could say so himself. When they walked out of Jungkook's apartment complex they started walking to the familiar cafe they went earlier.
Grabbing a seat they ordered coffee, Taehyung's was black meanwhile Jungkook had his with two sugars and two milks. When they got their drinks Taehyung watched Jungkook add an extra pack of sugar to his coffee, and if only Taehyung didn't have his mask on he'd be exposed for making the most concerned face ever. "Isn't that a bit to sweet?" Taehyung questioned.
"I strongly dislike bitter coffee, just not my forte." Jungkook takes a sip of his drink and raises his pinky finger in the process earning a small chuckle from the latter.
"Very posh of you." Jungkook slightly chocked on his coffee and started coughing uncontrollably.
"I'm sorry, did my comment startle you?" Taehyung placed a hand on Jungkook's forearm, which Jungkook frantically waved his hand in denial. "No that's not it just...My drink went down the wrong pipe." with that response Taehyung just nodded and continued to sip on his coffee.
To redirect from going into awkward silence Jungkook posed the question, "are you planning on going to the next meeting?"
Being asked that question Taehyung had to think for a moment because him doing this is something against what his father believes, but currently they were not on good terms so maybe he was doing this to spite him or maybe he was truly in it for the cause but at the moment he wasn't fully sure of himself but could it hurt to attend just one more meeting?
From there last meeting they were planning to go to a radio station, maybe he shouldn't be a spokesperson because then surely his dad would find out but if moral support counted for something then that's what he'll be if anything.
"Yeah sure." When giving in his response deep down he had some ulterior motive, he somehow was fascinated with the drive that Jungkook conveyed with his presence, thoughts, and ideas. He admired his determined persona and yet finding out his unsettling family regards doesn't fracture his confidence, or at least he doesn't see it affecting him.
After some small talk, it was there time to part ways and Taehyung's unfortunate time to go back to his house. He knew he would be in deep shit once he'd walk through the doors to his home. He wasn't ready to leave Jungkook but he had a life of his own that Taehyung was very well aware about.
When he walked into his house welcomed by his butlers he was ready for the scolding, as if it was perfectly timed with his first step into the mansion his father was walking down the grand flight of stairs.
"Kim Taehyung, where have you been?!"
"I was out."
"You son of a-"
"Honey, you forgot to take your blood pressure pills." his mother held the capsule in her hand with a glass of water, his father face bright red.Mr.Kim took a deep breath and grabbed both items from his wife before chugging the water to allow the pill to swiftly go down.
"Now Kim Taehyung, I will ask you again where did you go?"
"I was out with my friends..." Taehyung pushed passed his father and started walking up the stairs not even sparing a glance to his parents.
"You understand the rules here!"
"We just want to know that you are safe."
"I'm alive aren't I?" He coldly put to his mother and when walking into his bedroom slammed the door behind him.It was annoying how they thought they could start caring now, when he's already older. He never wanted to be rich, he never wanted to be pampered, he just wanted to be loved. But they were already to late for that, he grew up with a whole childhood parentless he thought. Neither one of the was home when he got home from school, none of them were there to go to any of his graduations and that's when he knew he had no one. He was one to hold grudges and wasn't sure when he would ever be able to forgive, but at this point in time it wasn't any time soon.
He laid on his bed only to stare at his ceiling, might he say the 'mask be gone' society was sure something else. He thought back to the moment when Jungkook asked a very touchy subject "are you afraid of criticism?" The fact is that he was and all because of his parents, from all those parenting moments they had which was very little they always told him to follow the rules and to understand the mask is very important. he developed some self-esteem issues because he thought it was there way of telling there child they were not in any way charming.
It hurt.
A lot.
Maybe he envied Jungkook's self confidence something he has yet to learn, maybe that's why he fascinates Taehyung so much because he radiates everything that he wished he could be.
Maybe Jungkook can help him become the person he wants to be?
all just by joining a stupid little society called "Mask be gone"
