"I'm really sorry, y/n. My boss invited me to another business trip, but I'll be back soon. I love you and Chanhee too." I sighed deeply as I hanged up the phone.

Chan is on a business trip again and I'm growing tired each day. Taking care of a child alone is a very challenging task but I'm left with no choice, this is what life gave me. I have to be strong for my 5-year old son, Chanhee.

I was heading to the kitchen to make breakfast, when the phone rang. I picked it up and answered the call.

"Hello, who is this?"

"Hi, y/n. It's Vernon, I called to tell you that I'll be visiting today."

"Wait, wha-"

He hanged up on me.

I looked at the phone confusingly, still thinking about what he just said. My thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell ringing. He's here that fast?

I opened the door and saw a happy Hansol, but his smile quickly faded when he saw my appearance. My hair was still a mess, I haven't taken a bath yet and my clothes were a mess because of Chanhee.

I nervously smiled at him, "I-i'm sorry, I know I look like a mess-"

"y/n, are you okay?" He pulled me in for a comforting hug. "Are you struggling? I'm here now, I'll help you take care of Chanhee."

"What do you mean? I'm n-not struggling, I just woke up. You don't h-have to." I tried to push him.

"You dont have to lie, y/n. I want to help you, will you let me?" He held into my arms as he stared at me worriedly.

He wants to help me which means my stress and problems would slowly lift off my shoulders. This opportunity is for Chanhee, not for me. y/n, just allow him. He won't hurt Chanhee.

"Fine, you can help me."

After I said that, he had the biggest smile I've ever seen from him.

-

It had been a year since Hansol had started helping me take care of Chanhee. Chan comes back from his business trips for a few weeks then leaves the week after then comes back again the next month. It depends on his schedule, really. He is always on business trips because according to his boss, he's a successful businessman.

In that year of Hansol being with me, my son grew up as well. Today was the day Chan was coming back from his last business trip, a day he can finally start spending time with us. We prepared a simple celebration for my husband's arrival.

Hansol and I waited for Chan at the living room while Chanhee was being carried in Hansol's arms. He'll be here anytime now. Then the doorbell rang.

We became excited as the door slowly opened. "y/n?"

"Welcome home, Chanie!" Both Hansol and I shouted at my husband.

"Oh?" Chan stared in shock and a smile was seen on his face.

I gave him the biggest and warmest hug I could give him which he returned with the same feelings.

"Chan, I miss you so much."

"I missed you, too. I'm here now, I won't ever leave you and Chanhee again."

I pulled back and turned to Chanhee who was talking and smiling to Hansol.

"Chanhee." I called my son and he looked at me, confusingly. "Your dad is here, he's back home. Why don't you greet him?" I asked with an anticipating smile, but it quickly faded as I heard my son's response.

"No, he's not my dad." Chanhee scoffed and hid his face in Hansol's neck, avoiding any eye contact.

I looked at Chan and felt how hurt he felt at the moment, so I went up to him and hugged him. I rubbed his back in comfort, "Dino, he's just confused. Don't think bad of yourself, okay?"

"But it hurts so much, y/n." He hugged me tighter and buried his face on my neck, sobbing quietly.

Now, I looked at Hansol and mouthed 'put Chanhee to bed' which he did right away. As soon as they were gone, I pulled away from Chan and made him face me.

"Dino, I'm sorry-"

"Don't be sorry, I shouldn't have went to business trips. I should have spend my time with both of you, it's my fault Chanhee doesn't know that I'm his dad."

"No, it's my fault." Chan stared at me, confused. "It's my fault for allowing this to happen."

If only I didn't allow Hansol to help me, then Chanhee wouldn't have grown closer to Hansol instead of Chan.

"I'll talk to Chanhee about this." I said before leaving him alone at the living room.

This isn't the celebration I planned for.
