Anubico Oneshots based on prompts

"Surprise!"

Prompt: Nico is a famous music actor who has to go away for a few months due to a movie shooting. Anubis just misses his boyfriend. (Bonus: Anubis getting jealous of actor!Percy and actor!Jason [who are Nico's love interests in the movie] during the premier.

"I'll be gone for three months, Anubis," Nico said. "I'm sure you'll manage without me."

Anubis pouted as he remembered his boyfriend's words before he left for his movie-shooting.

He was staring out the window like those sad music videos Nico took inspiration from. He missed his Ghost King (Nico's artist name in the movie). He flopped down on the sofa, feeling miserable.

A soft bark drew his attention. He looked down, seeing the big eyes of Cerberus, Nico's rottweiler, staring up at him from his position on the floor. He reached down and scratched the dog behind his ear.

"Hey, buddy. Come on up here." He patted his lap and smiled as Cerberus clambered up on the sofa. He wasn't normally allowed to be on the sofa, but Nico wasn't there to scold him. He stroked the dog's fur, feeling Cerberus' tail wagging up a storm.

A tiny paw landed on his shoulder, followed by a furry head with perky ears and whiskers. Anubis giggled when he felt a damp nose tickle his ear. He reached a hand up to pet Bast softly, the cat nuzzling his fingers.

Cerberus whined at the loss of affection, earning himself a hiss and a bat of a paw from the tiny cat. The huge dog flinched back, hiding his face in Anubis' armpit.

"Now, now," Anubis chided. "Be nice now. You were a gift from aunt Bast, kitty, you should behave." The Egyptian could never figure out why Bast named the cat after herself, but the tiny feline certainly had the same attitude.

"You guys miss Nico, too?" Anubis scratched the rottweiler's back. He smiled sadly as Bast curled up on his chest. He could hear her purring loudly as he rested a hand beneath her head.

Cerberus yawned, his body heating Anubis up. The man felt his eyes slip closed as he fell asleep.

He woke later with a start. His phone was ringing on the table. He sat up, Cerberus grunting as he was pushed down from the sofa.

"Sorry, bud," Anubis said, reaching for his phone. He felt his heart skip a beat, it was Nico.

"Hello?"

"Hey, amore," Nico's voice sent a shudder down Anubis' back, a smile forming on his lips.

"Hey, angel. What's up?"

"I just wanted to hear your voice."

Anubis curled up on his side, Bast snuggling between his arms, "Oh, yeah? Well, you've heard it."

He heard Nico chuckle, "And, I wanted to tell you that we've finished filming."

Anubis set up with a gasp, clutching the phone tightly, "Seriously?"

"Yeah, man."

"So, you're coming home?"

He heard Nico huff a laugh, "Yeah, but you should check the front door soon. It's kinda cold..."

Anubis dropped the phone in his haste to get to the front door. He wrenched it open and found a grinning Nico standing outside, leaning against the banister.

"Surprise!"

The Egyptian wasted no time in pulling his lover into a hug, hearing the thud of Nico's backpack hitting the ground. He buried his face in Nico's neck, feeling more than hearing him chuckling.
