The Burning saint: re-created

Armageddon

In the middle of the 24th century, with no time to prepare, a portal opened in the middle Moscow. Most people in the surrounding area figured that they don't want to be near a weird dimensional anomaly and started running as far away from it as they could, but then there was this one brave soul, that was more curious than smart, who went and approached it. As he was standing right in front of the portal, he felt heat coming from it.

As he looked through it, the blurry wall separating this world and the one on the other side, he started to make out a red sky, and charred ground, with, several strange, alien structures in the distance. He then saw that something was moving closer and closer. That's when he decided to start running away himself.

He turned around to see the police arriving, but before he could get moving, he was pierced through the back. He barely felt it at first, he then looked down to see a red arm, with six fingers, all covered in metallic claws. He started screaming, and the police surrounding the portal started shooting at the monster that just came out of it. The creature was as big as a bear, it had four legs and two arms, it was running towards the six officers shooting at it. It didn't seem to slow down much despite the amount of bullets that were put in it. When it reached the police officers, it impaled two of them on each arm, then stepped on the third, crushing his body.

Two of the remaining officers started running away, but one decided to be braver than others, and stood his ground. The monster was closer now, giving a clear shot to its relatively small head. The officer kept shooting at it. The monster threw away the dead men on its arms, and turned its attention to the human. The officer was still unable to hit the head, and was impaled, just like the others. The monster lifted him up to its face and spoke in an inhuman voice, the words it said could not be understood by a human. The officer used the opportunity he had been given to shoot the monster point blank in its eye. Luckily that killed it instantly, and the police officer didn't die for nothing.

The army finally arrived, they had a tank and several APCs pointing their guns at the portal. Soon enough, two more monsters came out of the portal, one looking exactly the same as the first one, the other was a humanoid giant, wearing black armor and holding a massive sword. The army commander of these stepped out of the tank and spoke through a loud speaker saying, "You have illegally entered this country and your associate committed murder when arriving, explain your motivations and what you are!" The monsters didn't bother answering, and started charging towards the soldiers. The commander yelled, "OPEN FIRE!"

All weapons started shooting as the commander got back in the tank, the bullets seemed ineffective against the armor the monster was wearing. The first shot the tank made hit the four legged creature, killing it instantly. Before the tank could fire again, the giant cut it in half with it's massive sword. The cut missed the commander, but the Gunner was dead, and the driver had his arm and a big part of his torso cut off. The man was screaming in pain. The commander pulled out his pistol to shoot the monster, when that proved ineffective, he used the last bullet in his gun to shoot the nearly dead tank driver.

This made the monster curious, it grabbed the commander in its arm and spoke in a monstrous voice similar to the other monster. The commander, was surprised that the monster would talk to him, so he decided to indulge it despite not knowing what it was saying, so that he could prepare, "I'm sure you have something interesting to tell me, but I don't speak spawn of Satan." The giant lifted its sword preparing to cut the commander in half but the commander threw a grenade in its face. The demon got knocked back by the blast, its helmet cracked. The commander fell to the ground and ran to one of the armored vehicles.

The demon recovered and started to emit a dark aura. It unleashed a terrifying roar as more demons started coming out of the portal. The two vehicles with machine guns on them, were not enough to keep them at Bay. The commander used the radio in the armored vehicle to contact the rest of the army yelling, "THIS IS COMMANDER JOSEPH GREKOV, REQUESTING IMMEDIATE REINFORCEMENTS ON MY LOCATION, SEND EVERYTHING WE HAVE, THIS IS AN INVASION!"

From that point onward, things only got worse for humanity, each day more people were killed, and more land was taken from them. It started with Russia, it didn't take long for all of Europe to fall to the demons, after 3 months most of North America had been taken over, with the remaining humans trying to survive rather than to fight back.

With demons roaming the world, staying alive was near impossible, however some humans had learned to avoid death so far. One day, a surviving human was searching through the ruins of an abandoned house. There was not much left in it, a lot of the Food that was there was spoiled, and the water was dirty. Nevertheless, the human, grabbed a can of beans and tried to leave the house.

As he turned around after closing a drawer, a demon was standing right in front of him. The creature had a humanoid body, bat like wings, and black eyes. The human pulled out a knife from his pocket, and started swinging, a second later, he was thrown out of the window, with one arm torn off. Screaming in pain, he tried to crawl away, despite how horrible life has been, he still didn't want to die. As the demon approached its victim, it was interrupted by a woman with the wings of an angel that landed from the sky between them, wearing white armor and holding a silver sword. the woman didn't say anything, her sword ignited, the blade was covered by flames. The demon ran towards her and raised its arm preparing to strike, but was interrupted by that arm being cut off, and before it could attack with the other one, it was stabbed in the chest, and its body was set on fire. As the demon was burning, it still tried to grab onto her, but the woman kicked it to the ground and cut off its head.

The demon turned to ash, and the woman turned her attention to the injured human. As she approached him, the human started to feel a sense of warmth and peace. She didn't say anything, she looked at the human, saw his missing arm, then placed her hand on his chest. The human suddenly understood her intentions, and without a word spoken, knew she wanted to help. He pointed at the house, saying, "It's over there." So the woman jumped inside the same window that the human was thrown out of, and came back with his arm. She put it back in place, held her hand on the injury and as it emitted a bright yellow light, all the bleeding stopped, and his arm was moving again. The human asked, "Who, or... what are you?" Her helmet disappeared, revealing her face, and she put her arms around him. As her body emitted a bright light, for a moment the human felt calm, for a moment he forgot how miserable he was, just being touched by her gave him a feeling of peace, and he knew that she was there to help.
