More than two months passed, guardian 121 had not moved from her place even once, she kept trying break free of the chains, but they were designed to hold beings stronger than her. The day came when Epsilon came through the front door of the temple. Alpha was sitting in his throne and said, "I didn't think you would come here, especially after staying away for so long out of, what I can only assume is, fear." Epsilon walked across the main hall with a strange staff in his hand, and said, "I didn't come here expecting you to let her go, but one way or another I will get her away from you, I would be happy if we could do this without making a mess." Alpha was outraged, he stood up and said, "You want to fight me!? Do you really want to break our most impor-" He didn't get to finish his sentence before Epsilon smashed his staff against the ground sending a shock wave around him, from which all the guardians in the temple fell unconscious while leaving Alpha and Epsilon unharmed and the staff broken.
As alpha was looking at the disabled guardians, Epsilon said, "No rules have been broken, they'll all be up and running in an hour. Now I'm taking my guardian back." While Epsilon was walking towards the unconscious guardian 121, Alpha grabbed the sword he took from guardian 121, and rushed towards him shouting, "I WON'T ALLOW YOU TO GET HER KILLED!" Right before Alpha got to Epsilon, a large deer rushed in the room, jumped between them and took the hit.
It was one of Epsilon's creations, named Artemis, that came to help save guardian 121. As Alpha looked at the injured deer, he dropped the sword and took a step back out of shock of what he had just done out of childish impulse. Epsilon picked up the sword and said, "honestly, I didn't think even you would go this far." He then looked at the injury, and said to Artemis, "It's not lethal, you'll live. Can you carry her? Artemis nodded and Epsilon helped lift guardian 121 on his back. While Epsilon was leaving, Alpha yelled, "YOU THINK THIS MAKES YOU BETTER THAN ME!? WHEN YOU LET YOUR CREATIONS DO WHAT THEY WANT, EVEN WHEN IT KILLS THEM!?" Artemis looked back with anger in his eyes. Without even turning to face him, Epsilon said, "Screw you, Alpha." Then the two left.
After an hour of walking, guardian 121 finally woke up. The first thing she noticed was that Artemis was limping because of an injury on his leg. She immediately jumped off his back and tried to put her hand on the wound. When Artemis noticed guardian 121 moving, he stopped walking. When her hand was placed on the wound, her hands illuminated a bright light making the wound close completely and the pain Artemis felt was gone.
Guardian 121 turned to face Epsilon who had just been standing and staring. As they were facing each other Epsilon said, "You're finally awake, sorry about knocking you out, I figured you wanted me to get you out as fast as I could and I couldn't think of any faster way." Guardian 121 ran up to Epsilon and gave him a warm hug, in appreciation of setting her free.
After a few seconds of silence Epsilon said, "Alright, that's enough, we need to get back home." Guardian 121 let go of Epsilon and looked at Artemis. Artemis gave her a nod as a way of saying goodbye, so guardian 121 got behind Epsilon and grabbed him from behind. Knowing what happens next, Epsilon sighed and said, "Here we go." Holding Epsilon in her arms, guardian 121 jumped into the air, spread her wings and flew away from Alpha's mountains, back to the forests of her home land.
guardian 121 and Epsilon landed in front of the temple and went inside. Standing in front of the closed portal, Epsilon gave guardian 121 her sword and said, "Now, do you still want to go to Earth?" She nodded to say yes, despite repeatedly being told that she will die doing so, she still wanted to save lives. Epsilon replied, "Then you'll need an upgrade."
Concerned Delta entered the room and asked Epsilon, "Are you seriously going to do it?" Epsilon replied, " I don't think we have a choice, if she's going there alone, she needs a way to replenish her energy, otherwise she's dead." The way they were talking, guardian 121 felt worried, there must be a reason why Delta thinks having a way to regain energy would be a bad thing. Delta told guardian 121, "The upgrade he's planning to give you will allow you to use demonic energy by draining it from demons, but even though demons consist of similar energy as you do, it's different enough that you can't use it the way you are now and for all we know that difference can be harmful to you. Needless to say, I don't like this idea."
Guardian 121 was visibly concerned as she turned to Epsilon who told her, "If you don't want this ability, I won't make you take it, so do you?" Guardian 121 looked down, she knew that without this power she would most certainly die, but consuming demons to survive could possibly lead to horrible consequences. Even so, she raised her head and agreed to be given the ability to drain demons for energy.
Epsilon told her to step in the machine that he uses to develop his creations. Epsilon made it long ago to make designing his creations easier. With it he could draw a 3 dimensional shape, so that he wouldn't have to concentrate on it and could instead focus on the content of said shape, making the process faster by 30%. Even with technology like that at his disposal, it still took a few hours. Guardian 121 was standing in a circle, covered by her outline. She could feel her body changing. It didn't feel worse, it just felt different.
Delta asked Epsilon, "Do you think it's still worth sending her there? After 3 months all the humans are probably dead." Epsilon replied, "Most of them no doubt are, but everything on Earth has evolved to keep their species alive by any means necessary, I wouldn't be surprised if there are more than enough humans left to achieve that goal." Having more doubts, Delta said, "But even if there are humans left, how would she save them from the demons alone? The whole planet must be overrun by now, even if she closes the portal, they still have to deal with the demons on their world." Epsilon didn't have an answer for that, he said, "I don't know, but if they can be saved, guardian 121 will have to get to the demon portal and close it. After that all we can hope for is that, what remains of humanity is enough to fight back."
Guardian 121 was now properly prepared to fight demons on an unfamiliar battlefield. The three stood in front of the portal, before Epsilon opened it, he told guardian 121, "Alright, I'll open the portal now, but fair warning, I don't know exactly where you'll appear on Earth. Right now, I think I can get it to appear at least on the same continent as the demon portal, but it still may take several days to get to the demon portal."
Epsilon pushed some buttons on the panel next to the portal and as it opened he said, "This is your last chance to change your mind, if you go to earth, you will suffer and you will most likely die, and it will be by your own decision, do you still want to go?" Her armor appeared on her body, and she held her sword tight, as she gave Epsilon an affirmative nod. Epsilon proceeded to open the portal and guardian 121 went through without hesitation.
As the portal closed, Delta asked, "So is that it? you want her to save Earth all by herself?" Epsilon replied, "I'll try to get more help for her, but with the way things have gone so far, she may just have to. I also have to deal with the mess that happened back at Alpha's temple." Concerned Delta turned to face Epsilon and asked, "Wait... What!?"
