Jack's POV

"No!" Elsa and Kristoff both yelled. But Elsa reacted a moment sooner. She jumped in front of the spear, and it hit her instead of Anna. She dropped to the ground.

"No! Curse you! But at least I will still get one of the girls." Pitch laughed. I pointed my staff at him, and a wave of frost rushed towards him. He laughed again and deflected it, hurling black sand at me instead. One hit my shoulder, and I groaned slightly. Then I slammed my staff onto the floor, causing ice to creep towards Pitch. He growled then vanished; leaving Anna, Kristoff, Elsa, and me alone in the cavern. I made ice cover the chain and snap it, freeing Anna, then I ran to Elsa's side while Kristoff ran to Anna's.

"Elsa. It's going to be ok. I'll take you to the troll." I told her. She was pale, and her hair was whiter than usual.

"Pabbie." She whispered.

"Yes. Pabbie." I picked her up bridal style, then turned to Kristoff.

"Take Anna to the castle and watch over her. She'll recover in time, her spirit is strong. But Pitch will be back." I told him.

"What about you and Elsa?" He asked, helping Anna to her feet.

"I'm taking her to Pabbie. He'll know what to do."

"Good luck. And safe flying." Kristoff said. The three of us rushed out of the cave, then I took to the air and flew towards the valley of living stones.

"Jack, does it hurt? Dying?" Elsa asked.

"Not a bit." I told her. She was quiet for a moment.

"How did you die?" She asked. I didn't want to talk about it, but I needed Elsa to stay awake.

"I took my little sister ice skating, but the ice was too thin. We were in the middle of the pond when it started cracking. I took off my ice skates and made a game out of it, hopscotch. In three hops I was safely away. I picked up my staff and turned to my sister. She took one shaky step, and the ice cracked. Another, and it cracked further. On the third, I used my staff to yank her to sturdier ice. But in the process, I ended up on the cracked ice. The weight was too much, and the ice broke. That's the last thing I remember."

"Pitch was wrong. It wasn't your fault. And you saved your sister."

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner."

"It's ok. It can't be easy to talk about."

"We're almost there. Just hold on a bit longer." I said. I started to fly lower. Then I touched down in the valley. The stones came to life and began to whisper to each other. Pabbie, the oldest and wisest troll, made his way through the crowd towards us.

"Black magic." He muttered, putting his hand on Elsa's head.

"Can you heal her?" I asked.

"Yes, yes I can. I've dealt with Pitch's magic before."

"When you healed Anna." I remembered.

"Even before that child. I've been dealing with Pitch for eons."

"But... how is that possible?"

"I was once a human as well, until I died. Then Manny brought me back."

"Wait, you're a guardian?"

"I've never been given proper guardian status, but I do basically the same thing."

"But..."

"There, that should do it." Unnoticed by me, he had healed Elsa while we were talking. Elsa opened her eyes, and I set her down. She blinked a few times, then climbed to her feet.

"Thank you Pabbie! You really are one of the kindest people I know."

"I was glad I could help." Elsa turned to look at me, then gasped.

"Jack, your shoulder!" She exclaimed. I looked at my shoulder. It was black. Ugh.

"We need to heal that! Pabbie, could you please heal Jack too?"

"I'm afraid I can't, not if you want to save Anna." Pabbie sighed.

"What do you mean?" Elsa asked.

"Pitch is on his way there as we speak. If you want to stop him in time, you must leave now."

"But Jack..."

"I'll be fine Elsa. Really. Plus, I'm supposed to be protecting you and Anna." I reassured her.

"Thank you Pabbie. For everything." I said, taking Elsa's hand and waving to Pabbie.

"Good luck my boy!" He called, as we took off and flew back to Arandell castle. Even though my shoulder was starting to burn, I pressed on. I had to protect Anna. I owed her that.

Yay! Two chapters in one day! I'm so happy. I'm hoping to finish the book by next week actually. Only what, two maybe three more chapters? Hopefully I can do another one today. Also, please vote/comment if you can.
