Elsa's POV

I stood by Jack as Anna talked with Kristoff. He was showing her his latest addition, which looked like a big piece of glass and a broom. He called it a wind-shield and wipers. His reasoning was that this way the wind and snow would stay out of your face while you rode, and you could wipe the snow off with the broom. Then him and Anna got into a discussion whether it was possible to wipe the wind-shield while you were riding.

While they talked, I glanced at Jack. He was watching all of the people around us, half hopeful and half sad.

"What is it Jack?" I asked.

"It's just like when I first became Jack Frost. I can't help remembering..." He sighed and leaned on his staff.

"I can't imagine what it's like, not being seen or heard." I said. Jack chuckled slightly.

"You have no idea."

"Ok, let me show you." Kristoff finally said. He and Anna climbed on the sleigh.

"Where are you going?" I asked as the sleigh started to ride away.

"To test the wind-shield!" Anna called. Then they were gone.

"Hey!" Jack shouted. Then he shook his head.

"How am I supposed to protect her if she's always running off?" He asked quietly.

"You get used to it." I said.

"Come on." Jack said, starting to run down the street.

"Where are we going?" I asked, running after him.

"We're going after them!" He laughed, jumping into the air and continuing to fly in the direction Anna and Kristoff had gone.

"But Jack! I don't know if I can do it!" I called. People were beginning to look at me strangely as I ran past, but I didn't care much. Jack stopped and flew back to me, holding out his hand.

"Grab on." He said. I took his hand, and together we flew out over the town and above the woods. I laughed with delight. I wasn't sure I would ever get used to the thrill of flying. It was winter, and the snowflakes drifted around us as we flew higher. Even though I wasn't a big fan of heights, I wasn't scared because I knew Jack would catch me if I fell.

Jack grinned and we flew higher, up into the clouds. It was cool and misty in the clouds, a little like swimming except you could breath. I held his hand tighter as we popped out above the clouds. I gasped.

It was as if we were standing in a field of golden snow. The sun reflected off the clouds, and no snow fell here. The sky was a magical blue, and the sun beamed down. If there was a heaven, this was what it looked like. Jack slowly took us back down beneath the clouds, even though I would have liked to stay longer.

"Why can't we stay up there?" I asked.

"A couple of reasons. One, I'm supposed to be watching Anna. Two, it's too cold for you up there. You wouldn't last very long. And three, the air is a lot thinner there. If we had stayed any longer, you would have passed out."

"But I didn't notice."

"Elsa, you're covered in frost." Jack said. I looked at myself. It was true. I looked like I was sprayed with glitter paint. Jack was coated in frost as well, but he was covered in even more than I was. He looked like a snowman with ice blue eyes.

"You look like a snowman!" I laughed.

"And you look like a snow angel." He replied.

"Is ice attracted to you or something?"

"No. I pulled as much of the cold onto me as I could. The frost wouldn't hurt me as much as it hurts you." Jack summoned a gust of wind which blew the ice off of both of us, then froze. He quickly glanced at the forest beneath us.

"Where's Anna?" He asked. I listened as well. I could no longer hear the clip-clop of hooves or the rattling of the sleigh, or even Kristoff or Anna.

They had vanished.

Well, there was one hint to where they had gone. A column of smoke rising in the distance. But that couldn't be good. Me and Jack quickly flew in that direction.
