Chapter 6, Harvey's point of view.

Lila walked up away and up the stairs. I think this is going to be hard on her, she's already running away from us. I just hope she'll cope ok.

"Hey mom, was it hard for you? You know when you had to start over," she stopped washing the dishes and turned to look at me.

"Yes it was very hard especially when I married your father," tears started to slip down her face. I knew this was sensitive for her, and we made a pact to never talk about my father again.

"I'm sorry mom, I didn't mean to," she nodded and then shooed me out of the kitchen so I wouldn't see her cry. I hated how he made her this way, from what I've heard she was an intelligent woman. Happy go lucky too.

I walked up the stairs and stopped at Lila's door. I heard quite sobbing from in her room and cracked the door ever so slightly. I saw her lying on her bed, face in the pillows that were drowning out the sobs. I almost walked in and hugged her, but I don't think she wants anyone to see her like this. So I left and went into my own room.

After getting into something comfortable to sleep in I climbed into bed and flipped on the T.V. I looked over and noticed my phone on the nightstand. I picked it up and I had 3 new messages. Two were from girls at school and one was from Chad, he helped us. He actually was crashing on the couch tonight afraid to go home.

I replied to all the messages and turned the T.V off. I rolled over trying to get some sleep. Then I heard it, a scream from far away.

"Ahhhh!," I noticed the voice to be Lila's and ran to find her. I burst through the door and found her sitting up in bed. There was sweat on her brow and she looked horrified.

"Are you ok?" I asked, she did not look ok. I noticed her breathing slow and I was relieved.

"Yeah I'm fine just a bad dream," I turned away, I hope she'll be ok. And to tell the truth I wanted her to call me back, I wanted to comfort her. "No wait, can you stay please I mean I remember my brother used to comfort me when I had a bad dream," I turned back and walked over to her bed. She moved over and I lied down.

"You better?" I asked her and she nodded. I closed my eyes and fell into sleep, the most beautiful sleep ever.

I saw her brown hair bouncing as she ran from me. She was wearing her yellow sundress I got her and it fit nicely. I finally caught up to her and wrapped my arms around her waist. We both laughed.

"You caught me," I hugged her closer to my body.

"After you fell," it was our little joke. From the first day I met her, then when we finally went out and it only enhanced our joke.

I picked her up and carried her over to a little blanket underneath a large oak tree. I planned a whole picnic for us and she agreed. I lied down next to her on the blanket and wrapped my arms around her waist again. She turned to look at me and we both leaned into kiss each other.

My eyes snapped open and Lila was missing. Where could she have gone? I looked around the frantic until I heard the toilet flush. Relief washed over me. But I wonder who it was in my dream, she reminded of my ex-girlfriend but then I could be someone else.

Lila came back into the room and lied down next to me, snuggling into my side. I think she was cold again, I remember the first day I found her. She was cold then in those old worn out clothes and she snuggled into my body for warmth. It felt nice to have her near me that day but I knew it was just a fluke, she was just cold.

I closed my eyes and fell back into a sleep.
