This chapter's song is: Werewolf by Cat Power

"Stop him," Jesse demands.

Everyone with guns begins shooting ruthlessly at this cowboy. But it's as if the bullets went straight through him like He was a ghost. He stumbles a little, but never falls or becomes weak. One person even fires a bazooka and he remained standing. People begin cheering, thinking he's dead, but he rises out of the smoke like some sort of devil. "Look!" one girl calls out.

Jesse, Cassidy, and the others look at the man shake and drop all bullets that had landed inside of him. With wide eyes, Jesse demands all of us to run. They do as he says, but that doesn't stop them from the piercing bullets from the cowboys deadly weapon. Cassidy pulls me and Jesse away and we escape back into the hotel while the others are being slaughtered. Cassidy breaks away from me and Jesse somehow, but we still head to Tulips room. "You hear that? We gotta go!" Jesse yells once we enter the room.

"Look," She says calmly.

We both walk over and see the news. Annville was blown up. Our hometown, the place we grew up, was now just one big pile of shit and corpses. We had no home now. All we had was the road. "Alright we gotta go, we gotta go!" Cassidy says, running in the room.

We all sit completely distraught, until someone shoots the tv, causing us to jump from our seats. "Let's go!" Jesse yells, quickly getting out of the bed.

We run and hide in the vending machine room, looking for an escape. We stay dead silent as we hear the cowboy walk towards us. Tulip and Jesse start arguing. I tap Cassidy and point to the window, then he taps Tulip and shows her the same, "climb on my shoulder an' see if you can pry it open!" he whispers to her.

I look over at Jesse, "why didn't your thing work on him?" I ask.

"I don't know!" He yells in a whisper back, showing his frustration.

A man with a severed arm then walks up to a vending machine and tried to buy a drink. I look at everyone confused, what the hell was up with this guy? He begins complaining about getting a ginger ale instead of a root beer. We try to shush him, but he grows louder. Jesse demands him to be quiet and right after, I notice the cowboy through the reflection of the vending machine turn around and walk towards us. We then escape through the window as quickly and quietly as possible.

We speed off into the night. I began questioning the reasoning behind him turning around after Jesse uses his voice thing. But, soon decide to ignore it and take a nap. "I'm sleepin'," I say, "so none of you mother fuckers better wake me up unless we're about to die!"

They all chuckle, then Cassidy puts a hand on my thigh. I felt a little creature inside my stomach crawl around a little. Since when did I let myself feel like a high school girl again? I can say, though, that it's nice to finally have something a little positive in my life.

I give him a smile and put my hand on his, wrapping my fingers around his.

The babies screams grow louder as the large man hands the baby to an old looking woman. "Don't hurt my baby!" a woman cries.

Standing in a doorway of a familiar looking room, I see the woman get strapped up in a chair by the smaller man of the two. "Ain't she a beauty?" the larger man asks, showing the older woman the screaming child.

"She sure is Jodie!" the smaller man says, activating the device attached to the crying woman.

I wake up sweating, and check my phone.
