Chapter 15

"Good morning Eric" Said my oblivious partner "Yes, we sure did"

"I can see. You're pretty chipper this morning" He said still grinning, and then he faced me "Hello Ash"

I mumbled a greeting, trying to avoid his eyes. Why did he have to come out of his room now? Why couldn't he have waited just 2mins before coming out? Why am I even like this? It's not like we did anything.

"What are you guys going to do today?" He asked. "Where are you headed?"

Nick opened his mouth to speak, but I cut him off before he can blurt out whatever it is he wants to say.

"Just enjoying today is all" I said "We don't really have a particular place in mind" Nick looked at me weirdly.

"Oh! That's good" He said "Maybe we can keep ourselves company, take a walk on the beach, discuss tomorrow"

"That's..." Nick started.

"Yeah, no thanks" I covered Nick's mouth to prevent him from talking "We're fine on our own, and I'm sure you are too" I said looking at him pointedly.

"Okay, okay" he said putting his hands up "I know when I'm not needed. Enjoy the rest of your day" he said walking away.

"You too Eric" came out muffled from Nick.

"You too" I said at the same time.

Then, he did the most disgusting thing, he licked my hand but I felt tingles race up my arm.

"Ew" I pulled my hand from his mouth immediately like I was shocked "Why would you do that?" I said wiping my hand on his shirt.

"I felt that was what I could do since your hand was still on my mouth" he shrugged.

"You are disgusting" I said.

"Yeah, but you love me" he said wiggling his brows.

"Just lets go" I sighed.

A few hours later, we sat down on the beach to relax and enjoy the sight, it was a quiet, peaceful, tranquil, but I knew it won't last for long, and like I predicted......

"Why didn't you want Eric with us today?" he asked.

"I just didn't want him anywhere near us" I shrugged not looking at him.

"Yes, I get that, but why?"

"He's an annoying and meddlesome old man" I said

"What has that got to do with anything?" he said "We were just going to hang out and talk"

"You wouldn't understand"

"Try to explain" he said "Just because I act oblivious to lots of things doesn't mean I'm dumb"

"If you we're dumb you wouldn't be here now" I said trying to avoid the question.

There was silence for some time, wondering why he was silent, I looked at him and saw him with the-i-know-what-you-are-trying-to-do look.

"He will try his best at matchmaking" I sighed.

"Now that wasn't so hard, was it?" he said smiling.

"You..... You....." I trailed off not knowing what to say.

"I know" he said patting my head.

"Stop that" I pushed his hands away and touched my hair to see if he ruined it.

"Aww, the little lady is all grown up" he said wiping invisible tears from his eyes while i rolled my eyes at him.

"Why would he do that?" he said.
