Jisoo was finishing up on washing the dishes when her mother called from upstairs.
"Yes, mom?" she asked.
"I'm going to visit your grandma at the hospital right now. Apparently she was rushed there an hour ago due to a severe headache."
"Oh no, is she okay? Should I come with you?"
Mrs. Single Kim waved her away. "No need, you go to class." She gave her daughter a peck on the cheek before stepping out the door. "Are you okay with commuting to school?"
"It's okay, mom. I'll take the bus! It's near."
"All right. Be careful, okay?"
Jisoo smiled. "I will. I'll visit grandma right after school, okay?"
Mrs. Single Kim cupped her daughter's cheek. "You're a good daughter."
Jisoo giggled. "Go!"
"Yes, yes. Bye!"
Jisoo watched her mother drive off and went to her room to change into her school uniform.
As she stepped outside the house, she stretched and let herself bathe in the sunlight. It was such a nice day today - she figured she would just walk. The school is only a 30-minute walk from her house, after all.
She barely came to 2 meters from her home when an annoying voice came from behind her. "Hey, hey, Miss Number Two!"
Jisoo pretended not to hear anything.
"Hellooooo!"
Jisoo started humming.
"Okay. Hey, Jisoo!"
Jisoo turned to look at Bobby. "Oh, hi, Loser. Didn't know you were there."
Bobby was riding his bike, matching his pace with Jisoo's walk.

"My mom had to be somewhere, if you must know."

"Brrrr it's cold here," Bobby joked. "Are you gonna walk all the way to school?"
Jisoo looked at him in the eye. "Yes. Why?"
"Nothing. It's kinda far away, you know."
"It's just a half-hour walk. Besides, it's a beautiful day."
"Yeah, but what will you do if your asthma acts up? You'll miss classes." Bobby faked a dramatic gasp. "Imagine that, Kim Jisoo missing a school day for the first time ever!"
Jisoo glared at him. "Not if I push you in front of a bus first." Jisoo faked a dramatic gasp too. "Kim Bobby left basketball team in the clutches of the enemy, marking Hongdae High's first-ever game 1 defeat!"
