Jisoo stepped out of the hospital, stretching her arms and neck as she invited the warm sunlight onto her skin. "Ahh, that was tiring," she sighed. "A 36-hour shift is no joke. I should eat lunch now."
It was spring. The green trees with wildflowers in full bloom shook as a light breeze danced through the air. Jisoo looked at the clear blue sky and shaded her eyes, sighing in satisfaction. A couple of magpies flew past, their distant cries faintly heard.
A black car suddenly stopped in front of her. Instinctively, she took a step back. Who on earth??
The passenger's seat's window went down. It was Jennie, sitting on the driver's seat. "Jisoo, hi!" she waved as she beamed.
"Woah, Jennie? You got a new car!"
"It's a gift from the boyfriend. Get in!"
Jisoo did as she was told. Once she got in, she immediately fastened her seatbelt. "Uwah, Koo Ju-ne is really fancy," she muttered as she looked inside the car.
"Of course he is," Jennie replied as she flipped her hair. "It took him 8 years to finally propose!"
"WHAT?!" Jisoo exclaimed. "He proposed? When?"
"Last night!" Jennie replied excitedly. "I thought he just got me a car, but when I went inside there was a box on the passenger's seat. He asked me to open it, and there was a ring inside! It was really romantic."
"I'm so happy for you! Can I see the ring?"
Jennie showed her hand, not taking her eyes off the road. It was a beautiful ring – a 5-carat diamond ring in a oval cut sitting on a white gold band. Jisoo gasped as she saw it. This must've cost a lot. June must be doing a good job managing the family business.

"Where are we going, by the way?" Jisoo asked.
"We're going to have lunch with the crew! June and I want you guys to be the first to know."
"The crew, you mean...?"
"Yeah, the student council and the basketball team!"
Is Bobby going to be there? Jisoo wondered.
After their high school graduation and his quick goodbye, Bobby and his mom moved to San Francisco with their aunt. They finally moved out of their house, leaving abusive Mr. Kim to be taken by the police.
Jisoo never heard from Bobby again after that night. She saw him in the news though.
Bobby is the first South Korean basketball player to get in the NBA. And from what she heard, he's one of the best players.
"Jisoo? Did you hear what I said?" Jennie's voice faded in.
"Oh, what?" Jisoo shook her head. She was daydreaming.
