How to hide a body from cadaver dogs.
cadaver-dog. Noun. (plural cadaver dogs) A Dog trained to use its sense of smell to locate remains, usually human
In a missing person case, it is hard to prove a crime happened without some evidence. In cases where a dead body will be the likely outcome of a search, Cadaver Dogs are used to search, rather than standard Search and Rescue Dogs, Cadaver Dogs are trained to locate and follow the scent of decomposing human flesh. A cadaver dog can actually detect human remains through concrete, buried underground, or at the bottom of a body of water, using its extremely well-honed noses to search for faint traces of theof the chemicals emitted by the human body during decomposition
Two of the best ways to fool a cadaver dog are using ammonia (which I mentioned in CH.7) or making it seem like a false positive.
The first method is pretty simple and straight forward. Simply dig a hole, put the body inside and douse it in ammonia before burying it. The ammonia will screw up the dogs sense of smell, plus it will help remove forensic evidence and prevent excess plant and fungle growth common above burial sites. It will also help prevent other predators from digging up the body.
The second method is a bit trickier and can fail if not done properly. You'll want to bury the body at least 6ft in the ground and fill the hole with dirt until its 3ft deep. You'll then want to bury a large animal carcass in the hole, like a deer. Just make sure its an animal native to the area you are burying it in. After that just fill in the hole. If a cadaver dog manages to find it, it will dig up the deer and the area will be marked as a false positive.
