Night shift

I'd gone home after I explored the city a bit. I was due to work at the cafe at 7-12 so I thought I'd go home and have a nap. I woke up at 5 and there was no food in the house so I got ready for work and hopefully I'd be able to get some(lol)on the way. I got the train to the centre and I got out my map so that I'd easily be able to find the cafe again. I walked past a bakery and it smelt too good not to buy something so I needed up getting a pasty and a cup of coffee. It was delicious! I continued to walk to my work and when I got there the manager smiled at me.

"Ah hello you must be Madeleine, one of the co workers emailed me asking if you could have a job. You seem like a dedicated girl and I hope you enjoy working here. If you have any questions or anythings wrong , you want to discuss pay or things like that you can always call me. See you later" I smiled at him and awkwardly waved. I went behind the till and put on the apron that had my badge on and washed my hands. The girl, who I think is called Elena, said bye to me and left. It was just me now in the cafe and there wasn't any customers so I got out my old copy of Dracula and settled down at one of the seats in the kitchen area of the cafe.

The door opened and the bell rang making me jump out of my skin, I don't know why I bought a scary book with me. I looked up to see 4 boys around my age muttering to each other by the door. One was blonde and he was the tallest out of them. He had a black leather jacket on with black skinny jeans, he also had a lip ring. The second one was tanned and he had blackish hair and he was wearing a grey T-shirt that said 'army' on it with black skinny jeans. He had a couple of tattoos on his arms. The third boy also had blonde hair but it was darker and curly. He had a bandana in it and he was wearing a 'the who' T-shirt and ... you guessed it black skinny jeans. The last boy had bright red hair and an eyebrow piercing with tattoos on his arms. He was wearing a Metallica T-shirt and black skinny jeans. (They're obviously wearing shoes I cba to write about their shoes though)

Whilst I was checking them out the red haired one had walked forward and looked at the menu.

"Hi how can I help? Do you know what you want to order? We stopped serving food but we have got crisps and some cake bars and I can make you a sandwich if you'd like, we have a different menu with the food on." I said nervously,fiddling with my hands.

He looked at me and smirked," what if I want you?"

Instantly,my face turned red and I was blushing, I'd never been talked to like this before so I didn't know what to say. He was very attractive which didn't help. His friend walked up to the till and was looking at the red haired boy with a disgusted look on his face. I was stood there shocked.

"I'm so sorry about my friend, he doesn't know how to act around beautiful girls, I'm Luke by the way" he said with a small smile.

" Hi Luke ,I'm Madeleine but call me Maddie" I said smiling.

"I'm Michael." The red haired boy cut in giving Luke a death stare. Luke put his hands up in defence and backed away.

"Calm down Michael, Jesus ,I was just apologising for your stupidity!" Luke said staring at Michael.

"Just back off okay" Michael pleaded with his back turned to me. I didn't know what to do so I just looked down at my hands.

"Heyyyy are you guys going to order or just argue because if you're going to argue could you do it somewhere else ,I need some coffee." The tanned one said with a jokey tone.

"Sorry" Michael and Luke said in unison, moving out the way so the tanned boy could get to the till.

"Hi what can I get you?" I said shyly smiling at him.

"Er can I have a latte," he said then turned around to face his friends,"do you guys want anything?" He asked them, they all shook their heads apart from Michael.

"Yeah Calum can you get me a black coffee and a chicken sandwich please?"He asked, the boy who's name I assume is Calum.

I nodded at Michael and put their orders into the machine,"is that everything?"

"Yes thanks." Calum smiled at me and got out his credit card tapping it on the surface.

"Shoot, sorry I forgot to ask did you want it to take out?" I mentally hit myself, I bet I sounded like an idiot.

"Take out please." I added up the amount getting Calum to put his credit card into the machine. Whilst he was doing that I put the machine on and made the drinks.

"Here are your drinks, I'll make the chicken sandwich now." I placed the drinks on the counter and went into the kitchen area to make the chicken sandwich. I didn't know what fillings Michael wanted or what bread which meant I was going to have to ask him. The boys were all sat at a table close to the counter, and they were talking so I awkwardly stood there until one of them noticed me. Funnily enough, Michael noticed me first and told the boys to Shutup, using nastier words.

"Sorry, but who was having the chicken sandwich?" I awkwardly asked, hoping to get their sandwich so that they could leave.

"I was" Michael answered, slightly raising his arm.

"What bread did you want? We have white or brown. Did you want it on a baguette or on bread? What salad do you want? Do you want it wrapped or open!?" I quickly asked, realising he wouldn't be able to remember them. I mentally face palmed for the tenth time tonight.

" I can't remember the first question," he joked," how about I come into the kitchen and show you what I want?" I didn't know if he was being dirty or not so I slowly nodded, hoping he meant food wise.
