"I don't know about this," Jisoo said nervously. "What if she doesn't like it?"
"She'll love it," Jennie said in exasperation. "She loves you and the love you give her, not the things you give her. Trust me, she'll say yes." Jisoo looked down at the little blue box with a rose gold ring and a small teardrop diamond.
"She deserves more, y'know," Jisoo mumbled. "Not this tiny thing." Jennie sighed and looked at the engagement ring herself. Yes, the diamond was small but it was very Lisa. It wasn't gaudy, exaggerated, and it wouldn't catch on things while she was performing. It was still beautiful and eye-catching, even if it wasn't huge.
"This fits her perfectly," Jennie assured. "I'm sure she would love a bread tie if you proposed with it." Jisoo blushed and closed the box, sliding it into her jeans pocket to focus on her best friend.
"So, will you be my best woman," Jisoo asked. Jennie put her coffee down and squealed with her mouth shut, filled with scorching coffee.
"Oh my gosh, yes, of course! Me and Rosie will take care of everything, we'll get a venue and dresses, and we'll get the cake and the flowers,-"
"Jen, you and Chae don't need to do all of that," Jisoo said with a light laugh. "Just help me get through the proposal and we'll talk about planning." Jennie pouted and took an aggressive sip of her latte, looking like a baby that was told no for the first time.
"Fine, but I'm telling Chae about this."
"Oh my god, Jennie," Chaeyoung yelled. "We have so much to plan! We need to make sure to take as much pressure as we can off of Jisoo and Lisa, and we need to be ready at any second if they need us!"
"Jisoo already vetoed that," Jennie grumbled. "But we need to help her plan the proposal pronto!"
"She hasn't planned it yet," Chaeyoung asked, completely astonished by her friend's lack of preparation.
"Well, she's nervous about the ring she got. She thinks its too small and that Lisa won't like it." Chaeyoung and Jennie stuck their heads back and looked at each other with the same expression, 'Jisoo's crazy.'
"That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard," Chaeyoug said blandly. "Lisa would love anything Jisoo proposed with, even if it was an air ring."
"I know! I told her that and she's still worrying!" The two shook their heads as they spoke loudly in their kitchen at their regular island seats. Drinking tea while spilling it was a favorite tradition of theirs, one that had last a long time and continues with them for years.
"Well, we'll just have to help her plan," Chaeyoung said firmly. "I'm not missing being the maid of honor because Jisoo's a little worried over a ring."
