"Look, it's them," someone whispered.
"I didn't think Jisoo was that dumb," someone else said.
The couple walking down the hall hand-in-hand tightened their grip on each other and tried to ignore the whispers around them. "Don't listen," Lisa humbled under her breath. "They aren't worth it."
"I know," Jisoo replied. "It's just annoying."
"I wonder how long its going to be before Lisa breaks up with her," they heard. Jisoo frowned at the comment and lowered her head to look at her feet.
"What did I say," Lisa hissed. "They aren't worth it, they're trying to make you doubt us." Jisoo nodded, knowing her new girlfriend was right, but still had that little seed of doubt at the back of her mind. Lisa was known around school for playing around with relationships and never taking them seriously.
When the younger girl stumbled over her words when she asked her out for their first date and brought her a little daisy everyday until they began officially dating, Jisoo was sure that she was being genuine. Showing up at school with an upperclassman on her arm with a happy smile was shocking to say the least. In the four months that they had been dating, several rumors had started that they were going to break up, that they were cheating, or that they were talking bad behind each other's back had severally damaged their relationship.
Still, they walked hand in hand into their school, showing everyone that they love each other, no matter what stupid things they said, even if it got to them a little sometimes. "Hey guys," someone yelled. Jennie and Chaeyoung, their best friends came running over in their neat uniforms, backpacks swinging on their shoulders.
"How was your weekend," Jennie asked. The four migrated to their table in the cafeteria to catch up before class started. "You didn't text us very much."
"We went on a picnic date in the park and went shopping together afterwards," Lisa said. She threw her arm around Jisoo's shoulder and stared dreamily into space. "It was great."
Jisoo laughed and pinched her girlfriend's cheek, making the younger girl whine and slap at her arm playfully. "It was pretty great though," Jisoo agreed after teasing Lisa for a while. "My Lili is so cute!"
"Gross," a guy yelled from the other side of the cafferteria. As the four looked to the person disrupting their conversation, a volley crumpled paper came at them, hitting all of them. Lisa squealed as she covered her face with her hands while Jennie and Chaeyoung crawled under the table. Jisoo held up her textbook until she stopped hearing the thump of hitting paper.
"What the hell," Lisa yelled to no one in particular.
"What was that," Chaeyoung asked as she tentively got back in her seat.
"I think we were just bullied," Jennie grumbled. Jisoo frowned as Lisa leaned into her side and thought about why they were just pelted with paper bombs while the others slowly restarted the conversation. Nothing like that had ever happened before for any of the girls, so why was it starting now? Was it because of their relationship? It was the last thing the people in the hall were gossiping about and it had been a pretty hot topic lately.
Everyone figured that Lisa and Jisoo were experimenting or trying to get attention from their classmates when they came out, and in the time since, most had come to accept they were genuinely dating and liked each other. And although a very small minority, there were a few unhappy people that didn't like them being together, and not because they were jealous.
