"Today we're getting new a group of exchange students from Thailand! We'll be bringing two into our class, so please give them a warm welcome and be mindful of the language barrier," Mrs. Chee said excitedly. Jisoo drowned out the introductions of the new students to doodle on her notebook instead. The room surged with whispers as the door opened, alerting Jisoo to the presence of the two new students standing at the front.
The Korean girl glanced up, eyes searching the crowded lecture room to find the two tall people waiting by the teacher. The boy was lanky with white hair, full lips, and a thin face. The girl was a little shorter with straight honey blonde hair hanging down her back with cute bangs hanging over her forehead. Her thick lips were covered in a light pink lipstick and her doe eyes were lined with brown eyeliner. She was undeniably pretty, beautiful even, but something about her called to Jisoo.
Something akin to familiarity bloomed in her chest as she looked at the lovely Thai girl with focused eyes. Jisoo was sure they had never met before but something about her screamed, You know me!
Jisoo was distracted through the entire class as she thought about the new girl and what made her seem so familiar. The Korean woman strolled through the school's garden aimlessly in between classes. Having these feelings for a girl before they had even really met didn't make sense, and it didn't feel like a normal crush. Her stomach wasn't fluttering with butterflies and her face didn't get hot just from eye contact with her. Not like they had actually made eye contact.
In her wanderings, she came across the oldest tree on campus. The main building and a few of the other, smaller buildings were converted to a college campus after a member of the family donated the home to the county. The tree was the only thing the family said had to remain completely untouched. With respect to the family, the school designed a beautiful garden around it.
Outlining the garden were rows of honeysuckle and pansies, plants that had been on the grounds for over a hundred years. Jisoo stopped in her tracks as she found the blonde girl sitting under the tree, reading a book, and listening to music quietly from her phone. It was cliche, it was such a movie thing to happen, but as Jisoo stared at the girl under the tree, she looked up, and they meet gazes.
As soon as Jisoo met Lisa's walnut brown eyes, her head began to swirl and she felt herself be pulled away.
