*You Need to Calm Down

A lot of things happened to BLACKPINK in August of 2020. They were preparing for their first full album, riding the high from their newest single, and with it, the attacks from anti-fans and other fandom members. Hate was being piled on them from all sides, particularly Jennie for "being selfish" and Jisoo for "not bringing enough to the group." Of course, Chaeyoung was belittled for her "fake" voice, and Lisa was continuously called ugly and not good enough to be in the group. The announcements of their solo songs being prepared didn't slow the hate even a little as Jennie was attacked for getting a solo before the others.

Basically, it was a rough time for the BLACKPINK members. YG Entertainment didn't stick up for them and put their boy groups through hell without letting them rest. The IKON members still hadn't had the proper time to deal with Hanbin leaving and Winner was dealing with enlistments. And on top of all of it, they were making another boy and girl group, almost completely leaving BLACKPINK in the dungeon.

The only people that were willing to stand up for the girls were the four members of BIGBANG, mentors, and friends to the quartet. With their support and affinity for shenanigans, an Instagram live was set up far away from managers and the YG building.

The live started as many do, the four girls waving and saying hello to everyone while moving things around just off-camera. About ten minutes in the video, hate comments started flooding in, going perfectly for the girls' plan. Jisoo and Chaeyoung wrote things on poster cards while sitting on the back of the couch as Lisa and Jennie kept going with the video.

Another ten minutes passed and the four women set their plan into action. One at a time, they held up signs of the hate comments they had gotten during the video, reading them out and giving honest responses to them.

"You selfish bitch," Jennie read. "You did your solo a year before the other girls and only try for that song. Leave BLACKPINK." She set the card down, took a shot of patron, and looked into the camera. "Well, you see, LOONA4everstan, I have tried to get their solos pushed in every meeting with managers and the higher-ups. We have talked it over until we were blue in the face and we're still here. And I don't only try for 'Solo', but if I don't get the proper medicine, I get sick very badly. My health may not mean anything to you, but it means a lot to me and my girls." The other three women smiled and pat her back, happy that she finally got to defend herself and that they were all going to get to go.

Chaeyoung went next, pushing her long silver-purple hair out of the way as she held up her sign. "You're voice is fake and annoying. Don't sing and get a real personality instead of coping every other girl group. BLACKPINK is just riding the KPOP waves of BTS." Chaeyoung dropped her sign on the floor and took her own shot of alcohol. "The only thing I can say to BANGTANBOYSISLOVE, I have a vocal technique and I happen to like it. I also love singing and this is my personality. I'm a bubbly person that enjoys life, even when people like you, who have never met me, try to claim otherwise. And, we respect BTS as a group though we haven't interacted much with them. I know they would hate to hear comments like that from their fans, but then again, you've probably said similar things about them one time or another."

"Ooooooo," the girls' called.

"You think we don't know that the ones that claim to be our biggest fans will turn on us the fastest," Jisoo said. She leaned back in her seat and took a drink of water.

"My turn," Lisa said excitedly. She put her sign up and grinned mockingly at the camera. "You ugly, anorexic freak. Starve yourself to death and put us out of our misery of hearing you try to sing and rap. Go back to wherever you came from you Southeast Asian girl." Lisa threw the sign off-camera and looked into the camera recording them. "Unlike you, I work out a lot. I dance instead of wasting my time on Twitter and Instagram hating on people on the other side of the world. If I wasn't a good singer or rapper, I wouldn't be here with these talented women so you can be quiet now. You don't like me, okay, that's fine. And, as someone from Southeast Asia, I take that as a compliment. If I'm on the same level as the other beautiful women I grew up seeing, then that means the world to me." Jisoo leaned down and planted a kiss on Lisa's cheek as the Thailand native threw back her shot.
