"My soul is from elsewhere, I'm sure of that, and I intend to end up there."

The second that damn woman left the cabin, I shot up, gritting my teeth through the throbbing pain that enveloped my body. I tried to put some pressure on my wounded leg as I attempted to stand up but fell right back on the couch again, because of the agonising, burning sensation. Getting annoyed, I huffed out a deep sight. "C'mon..." I hissed out, heaving myself up from the soft cushion & grabbing the armrests for support. I stuck one hand into the pocket of my pans to get my phone out. I groaned as I saw that it was broken, the screen had big cracks & it wasn't responding as I struggled to turn it on.

Looking up, I observed the room around me closely. "There must be a phone here somewhere." I jumped forward on one leg to avoid stepping on the hurt one. I found a broom leaning against the dinner table in the small kitchen, which I took to steadily walk around, without knocking anything or me down on my way. My gaze wandered across all the furniture, and I had to admit that it looked cosy, an at home feeling spread slightly in my chest, which I immediately pushed away.

I spotted an old phone resting on top of a commode. "How convenient." I thought sarcastically, hoping that it still works. Stumbling over to the desired item, I noticed a layer of dust covering the telephone. "Does she live in total isolation or does she have no one to call? No there was a car in front of her house, so she must go out from time to time." Ignoring the all the questions that were swirling in my head, I blew off the grime & picked up the device. I held it close to my ear & began to dial in Josephs number. For a moment there was just silence but then there was a pipping sound emitting from it. Hope raised up inside of me as I waited for someone to pick up, agitated as seconds past without a response. I almost gave up, when suddenly I heard the calm voice of my brother, asking who his talking to.

"Hey there brother." "Jacob, where are you? No one has heard anything from you for several hours. " My brother asked with a concerned voice. "Got bitten by a grizzly bear that belongs to the woman who invaded my camp. I need someone to get me out of here, so that I can bring her to you, she wants to have a word with ya. I tell ya that woman is weird as fuck, she didn't even fight back when I told her that she will be a part of the cult." "I hope you aren't suffering from your injury." Was the first thing my brother said after my explanation. "It's endurable. She stitched me up while I was out like a light." "That's good to hear but I can't fulfil your request." I almost choked on my spit, as rage started boiling in the depths of my chest. "What! Why not?" "Because I want to get her to trust us. You've seen what she did. If I send out men, she will automatically go into defence & if I can guess, she already threatened you that she will kill everyone. She's dangerous if we let her loose."

I hated it how Joseph was always right & I couldn't shake the feeling off that this was a part of his "prophecy". "Fine." There wasn't much I could response with, arguing worth & back wouldn't be a solution to this problem. "Take good care of yourself while you are out there. I will tell John & Faith to take care of your region until you return." With that we said our goodbyes. I was embraced by the silence around me after I put the phone down.

My blue eyes began to scan the room again. Investigating everything that I could see, to find any information about her. Like the first time I entered this place, I had no luck discovering anything, there weren't any pictures hanging around, no letters, nothing. It's like she only exists in this forest. The cult has information about almost everyone in Hope County but this one woman, who seems to be living here for decades now, wasn't spotted this whole time. "Well if the resistance knew her, she would be the talk, they'd say that she gonna go after us & lead the resistance." I whispered to myself as I was deep in my thoughts. It was a mere coincident that we were the first ones to find her, might be better that way.
