The wolves are never meant to be anything other than defending. They're not meant to be aggressors.

- Joe Carnahan

The next couple of days were rainy & grey. You mostly stayed in the house, organizing things for winter or fixing some parts of the old cabin. Occasionally you would catch Jacob starring at you, while you were doing your tasks, but he would quickly turn away when he was caught. It was kinda cute & strange at the same time, you weren't used to not being alone.

Even though you had company, Jacob wasn't talkative at all, so you spent your time drowned in silence & it was truly boring. A kind of boring that you haven't really experienced yet. Of course, you would get bored from time to time, but your puppies or Teddy would keep you busy. You would read a book or two, cook, craft something, there were a lot of things that you were used to do and were passionate about. But now, suddenly it feels like routine. Maybe it was the tingling feeling that was rising in your guts each day you would think about going to Joseph's. Yeah it's probably that.

You were both scared & excited about it. It's like an adventure that would decide which turn your life would take. You couldn't compare this to anything you did before, it's not like being out in the wild for weeks, exploring caves or sky diving from a mountain. It was certainly strange that you weren't terrified, most human beings would be scared shitless when being forced to join a cult, but you weren't. "I'm a crazy bitch." Was your conclusion.

Maybe the isolation you but yourself in, was slowly getting to you. You were alone half of your life, you had your family, your pack but deep down you knew that sometimes you too craved for another person in your life to share your interests with. But you wouldn't abandon the forest to have friends, you were too afraid that something would happen if you'd leave for too long. The hunters & hikers that you would meet while wandering the woods, would start conversating with you, sometimes they would talk for hours, but that was it. Your ways would part & the things you just shared flew away with the wind.

You snapped out of your deep thinking, after you heard your name being called. Turning your head in the direction were the voice came from, you saw Jacob standing in the middle of the room, with his right leg slightly bent.

He warmed up a little (but he's still a grumpy ginger)after being around you for almost a week & also started calling you by your name, which certainly startles you every time. Because your day basically consists of you two throwing profanities at each other at any given opportunity, rather than saying each other's names; you both had really foul mouths. "Hurry up already lamb. I told my brother that we gonna be there in a few hours." Jacob said with a calm but slightly annoyed voice.

"Don't stress, Jacobi. It's not my fault that my car keys decided to hide from me." You were running around the cabin for a good half an hour already, searching for that god damn key. Jacob was an impatient little shit & wasn't really helpful, just standing there, staring. Fortunately, you found them inside a cupboard. You forgot that you had but them to the stash of medical supplies & bullets that was hidden in it.

"There we go, I found them. Lemme just grab my bag from upstairs & then we are ready to go." You didn't wait for an answer, you just went straight to the staircase & up the steps. Walking up to you bed, where a big training bag was lying on top of it, that was already stuffed with your clothes. You put some of your favourite books, your camera and couple of flasks of your liquefied and creamy herbal medicine inside. You also hid some hunting knives & pistols underneath your clothes, just in case something should happen. Zipping up the bag, you threw it over your shoulder & gazed around the room one last time. "God, I miss this place already." You thought as you smiled sadly.
