They watched as the group of girls entered the bar, a rush of noise invading the previously quiet area. Smiling to themselves they couldn't help but feed off their energy as they laughed and joked with each other. Recognizing the girl from the woods Gary watched as she walked over to the bar, a smile covering her face.
As the evening went on they talked about their plans for the days ahead. They had noticed a party flyer on the window as they came in and said they would think about it as an idea for the following night.
The landlady had refreshed their drinks throughout the night so they didn't need to leave their tables, only to use the restrooms opposite where they sat.
Watching the girls on the table further in the room, they saw them heads thrown back laughing at something being said. The landlady smiled in their direction as she turned the music up and the girls reacted. Laughing they heard a familiar tune start to play and watched as the girls started singing along a little merrier than they were when they arrived.
Could it be magic echoed around the room and the singing began, badly and completely out of tune. no one caring how they sounded, they were together, listening to their favorite music, no one else mattered. They hadn't noticed the group in the corner as they danced around their table, even if they had their reaction would still have been the same.
Another song started and Gary smiled to himself. Only real fans knew of these songs never played on the radio and he watched as the girls started singing along, the landlady joining them. It always amazed him how proud it made him to see people singing songs they had written with such passion, especially ones hidden on the albums or Bsides.
As the landlady rang the bell for the last orders the girls said goodnight and left the pub the way they had come in. A little worse for wear they giggled as they got their bearings to head back to the house.
Gary, Mark and Howard left shortly after and laughed as they saw the girls progress had been slim, as they took one step forward and two steps back. Watching them for a second they almost went to help as one of the girls held on to a lamppost through laughter and ended up on the floor, two more girls landed on the floor besides her after trying to help her up. Deciding it was not the best idea they turned around and headed back towards Gary's house down the lane.
Lexi stood in front of her door, one eye closed she had spent the last few minutes trying to put the key into the lock. The girls offering to help had stood laughing and trying to stand up right. Finally hearing the click of the lock opening, they fell through the door one after the other. Lucy stood up from her place by the fire and popped her head around the door at the commotion, turning back round to stay out of the way.
Deciding they needed to be in bed they made their way to their rooms and passed out on the beds. The first night had been wonderful, tomorrow however was about to be painful.
