The next morning both parties headed out to find suitable costumes for the night ahead. The girls heading to the larger of the towns where more fancy-dress shops were located and the boys straight to the nearest town.
As the boys found the shop they were looking for they headed straight to the fancy-dress section and quickly picked up outfits looking for inspiration, after making their decisions they headed to the till to pay. The girl behind the register squealed as she realized who they were. A few photos were quickly taken and she headed straight to social media to tell the world who she had just seen.
They had planned on spending a little time looking around the historical town but decided that would be foolish now and headed back to the house, picking up previsions for the afternoon on the way back.
The girls stood before their costume choices and laughed at what they picked. There were hardly any left and the choices left they were finding increasingly funny. Deciding on heading to another shop close by, they left the shop and walked the short distance.
This selection was much better and they each picked a costume and headed to the changing rooms to see if they fitted. Picking up face paints and accessories they quickly headed to the till and paid for their purchases.
Excitement filled the air as they stopped for lunch before heading back. Checking facebook, they noticed an update on the take that fan page of a girl standing with Gary, Mark and Howard, a huge smile covering her face. Looking at the picture closely Lexi recognized the area outside of the window in the photo. Gasping she put a hand to her mouth in shock.
"what's the matter Lexi?" Carlotta asked looking at the picture again.
"That's my hometown" she said pointing back to the picture "Its like twenty-five minutes from here. The painting on that wall was only done last year"
"How though? Why would they be there?" Phoebe asked shocked
"I've no idea, but they are definitely there" She said. All of as sudden she remembered the figure in the forest. "it can't be" she said to herself.
"What can't be what?" Leanne said
"Last week, I took Lucy for her usual walk and she ran off. I found her jumping up at a man in the woods behind the house and when I went to get her I could have sworn it was Gary. It was so dark in there I couldn't really tell, but decided I was just being stupid and we left. What if it actually was him?" She explained.
"Jesus Lexi, you only tell us this now?" Liz said mouth wide open. "Mark Owen may have been nearby this whole time"
"I know, I know I'm sorry" She quickly replied
"If were quick we might just catch them before they leave" Jackie said grabbing her coat and paying the bill.
"They will be long gone now" Rachel said as they left the building "still worth a shot though.
