Lucerne's POV:

A few days before the Valentine's Day school dance, I would talk to this one cute boy in my class. His name is Joshua Meyers, he would be that competitive football captain kid, but not only that, he was able to befriend Charles Gautier, which doubled the chances of many girls liking both of them, which was insane for all of us children. Unfortunately, I was forced to face nightmares back at home, when all of my future was shattered. My guardian would forbid me from doing what I wanted to be a typical kid. No after school activities, no friends, no fancy items, no speaking up for what's right, but all I have to do is obey all day into loads of dirty housework. Sometimes, while she was away, I would secretly escape to put my all into my goals in order to still maintain an ordinary life of friends and passions, which was considered a "house sin".
But as of today, the day of the dance after school, I was reading my book on a bench near the school. Joshua came up to me and asked me out to be his valentine for the dance.
"Hey, Lucy."
"Um, hi Josh."
"I've been asked too many times to go to the school dance. But that's going to change your life."
   "Really? I wanna hear."
"Do you want to be my valentine for the Valentine's Day school dance?"
I blushed and laughed a little. "I'd love to." He sent me a stylus pen in the shape of a flower as a special gift.
"Oh my, no. Did you seriously make this?" I held the flower pen and his baby soft hands.
"Yep, I like you more." Joshua ran off quickly with his cheeks being noticeably red. "See you at the dance."
I hid the pen as soon as possible, putting all of my items away. My best friends Aliyah and Danielle saw me and kept asking me.
"Did Josh just asked you out for the dance?" Danielle was screaming quickly.
"Uh, I—" I was concealing my feelings for Joshua.
"Lemme take that." Aliyah stole my backpack, pulling out the pen.
   "Wait, stop!"
"Lucy, he asked you out and gave you this flower pen. This proves that he's in love with you."
"He said he liked me right in my face."
"Girl, breathe! You got asked out by a popular football boy. Now the next thing to do is come to my house and we'll give you a makeover." Danielle laughed.
"I want to, but my guardian wants me to work all day. You can tell she can't let me go outside or do anything. She's going to catch me soon enough."
"We'll never tell her and she won't know you if you come over."
"Thank you. You guys are my fairy godmothers!"

Charles's POV:

Walking down the hallways of my elementary school, I found a heart shaped letter from somebody. I picked it up and read:

Dear Charlie,
   Roses are red,
   Violets are blue,
The sun is shining,
And so are you.
Marigolds are orange,
Peonies are pink,
You're the one that I can think.
The clouds are white,
The grass is green,
You're the cutest that I've ever seen.
My eyes are brown,
My hair is black,
I won't hide my feelings and I won't turn back.
I love you,
Your secret admirer

I hid the poem inside my bag, getting into my bodyguard's limo. Thinking to myself during the car ride home, I wondered, Who could it really be? It's not signed at all, but it doesn't matter. This special someone wrote me a colorful poem with meaningful words, and I just want to keep reading it again and again. The problem is, I can't even write poems that good, so either my friends or Blaze will have to help me find a good response before the school dance to the black haired, brown eyed person, presumably a girl.
I headed home to study multiplication and English, kind of falling asleep in my room.
"So, are you going to the dance with a special someone?" Blaze crawled and pulled my ear.
"Ouch! What are you doing?"
"Tryna get you to win the girl of your dreams."
"Prairina is the girl of my dreams. I saw that coming from someone else."
"Could it be from Taylie, Ayako, Naomi, Elsie or Heather? They all have black hair and brown eyes, but they all are smart girls who are also creative."
"My first guess would be Heather."
"Yeah, I guess. She's very talented at writing and singing when I first heard her on my birthday. There's also others who can sing or write, too. Do you got any good ways to find my secret admirer?"
   "Write her a poem back?"
"Nah, too cliché. Maybe a scavenger hunt will do?"
"Charles, we got your outfit ready for the school dance." My dad yelled at my door.
"Merci, père!" I prepared to open the door to wear the suit my mom just finished for the dance.
A while later that night as I got out to go back to school in my new suit, there were many kids dressing up like it was a high school prom, but elementary school edition. Soon enough, I made a little scavenger hunt, eventually using the clues from the poem to find my secret admirer out of thousands of little girls attending the dance.
