Heather's POV:

"Happy new year!" I woke up from my bed on an exhausting Saturday to hear all of the cheering my parents did. My mom already finished setting up the table of food, lit up the sticks on a can, and played some loud Chinese music.
"Happy new year." I yawned, falling asleep on a couch.
"Meigui!" Dad yelled at me by my Chinese name, which literally means Rose. "Wake up!"
"Okay, fine. I'll change." I got out of my nap and headed to my closet to find a red outfit. In my room, I locked myself inside there to talk to Crystal.
"Hey, Crystal. I don't even know why my family has to set up another holiday for me to worry about."
"It's a tradition in your other culture, just like how we are."
"When did you even exist here?"
"About 65 million years ago, just as when the last dinosaur died, all of us were born in various places based on our mythological origins."
"Strange story but okay. How did you even become a glowing creature?"
"Out of a thousand caterpillars, I was the only survivor of a chrysalis attack from a flock of birds. Then King Oberon and Queen Titania, the fairy guardians, captured me while I was flying freely and got sent to a castle. The fairies designed your constellions and gave me special treatment to live immortally, resulting in my pink glow."
"That's interesting, but stay in my room and don't let my parents know or their magic will be ruined."
"Hurry up, you gonna be late for an important day leh!" Dad still shouted across the house.
"I get it, Dad!" I quickly put on my clothes, tied my hair up in two braided pigtail loops, and rushed right out of the bathroom. While Mom made the cellophane noodles with vegetables, bringing it to the table, she complimented my look for the lunar new year and sent me some red envelopes.
"Wow, my sweet little Heather. You look so nice with your new clothes!"
I laughed off and replied, starting to eat my noodles, "Thank you again, Mom."
"Do you hear that? I'm playing your new Chinese New Year album. Trust me, I love these new music videos we shot a few weeks ago." I looked around the living room that played my face in the videos, cringing at my singing and dancing. Why do I look so ugly in the video? Whether it was on a CD or on iTube for only a million views, what was I thinking in the very first place as a professional fool?
Many hours later after eating and worshipping with joss sticks, along with spending the rest of the day in dance classes and seeing Meredith while shopping, we received a significant phone call from a hospital.
"Hi, is this Fiona Kang?" The voice asked for confirmation.
   "Yes, it's me."
"This is a very serious message. We're sorry to announce that Chaowen has been diagnosed with a stroke. The cause is unknown, and we're trying to find it and get some treatment as soon as possible."
"What happened?" I tried to recall the message to Mom.
"Dad is sick and we have to come visit him."

Fiona's POV:

After a long drive to the hospital, I brought my little girl over to the building. Receiving the visitor stickers, we headed to an elevator, finding the room where my husband laid.
"Dad, what's wrong?" Heather held the side of the hospital bed, taking a closer look at him.
"Chaowen!" I couldn't even believe my eyes. When I pulled out the red envelope, I was so desperate to give my husband good luck with twenty verns. Tears trembled down my face, my brain raced to make sure he didn't die, there was a panic attack seeping through my body. Holding Heather's hand, she was cold, calm, and serious, just staring at him.
"Will Dad be okay soon?"
"He should be. It's been many years since we found love."
All of a sudden, I let my emotions control me, so I headed down the elevator, sent a message on Tweeter, and summoned Darkbird inside as he flew as a bird, entering the elevator.
"Hi Fiona, I know it's not that easy for a husband to be recovering at a hospital on a holiday."
"Is there a second chance for me to find luck quick?"
"Sure, as Captain Auspicious, your lucky charms will be the sixteen constellions from the eight spirits. Once you take them all, you can have everything you absolutely wanted. Deal?"
"Okay, Darkbird." I turned into a villain soon after.
