Janeira's POV:

"Happy Cinco de Mayo!" On a weekend at home, it was finally a small party Mami hosted. This year, I finally learned the real reason why we celebrate it.
"It is actually the day from a long time ago, when the Mexicans had victory over the French in a war. Suddenly, in the second round, we lost to them once more."
"That's actually interesting." Miele responded at first. "I might need more information on that."
"But I thought it's a day of independence!" I struggled to figure out the difference between some holidays.
"Don't confuse Cinco de Mayo with September 16, which is Mexico's Independence Day."
"Maybe you're right about that."
"But what about our Italian side? Don't they have any cultural holidays?"
"You'll probably learn it later on." Mami laughed at us, letting us enjoy our food.
"Alright, just wait and see!" Miele and I eventually spent our time with Flora and Fauna, who were still playing with their new teddy bears that Ceci sent them on their 3rd birthday.
"Fauna, what does Fluffy like to eat?" Miele asked Fauna while holding her pink teddy bear.
"Taquitos!" Fauna responded, shoving a taquito into the bear's mouth, staining her. She cried immediately thereafter. "Fluffy is so dirty!"
"It's okay, Fauna. I'll clean her up!" I grabbed the bear and rinsed all of the food stains from it. When I returned from the bathroom, Miele asked the same thing to Flora, but this time, her yellow teddy bear was named Sparkly.
"Flora, what does Sparkly like to eat?"
"Enchiladas with gelato." Flora placed the bear to the floor, pretending to feed it with a slice of chicken.
"Excellent choice!" I stroked the twins' hair while we had fun playing with the bears. Meanwhile, Miele was out doing something else without any of us knowing as she left the party room.
   "Papi!" I called my dad.
   "Yes, Janeira?"
"What's happening to Miele lately?"
"I'll call her up. Thank you for telling me."
"When will the dancing start? That's what I'm coming for."
"It'll be soon." After that, we were all dancing and having the time of our lives for a few hours. I felt like a princess as I twirled in my embroidered dress.
"This is so much fun, I want more!" I screamed.
"Miele," Mami called my big sister over. "It's dancing time!"
"I'm okay..." she echoed from her room.

Heather's POV:

At the time of a new month, Meredith showed up at my house as we scheduled to meet each other earlier at school. This time, her dad drove her here, but he also joined us as my dad opened the door. In case you knew the last time I mentioned him, he finally recovered from the stroke from Chinese New Year.
"Hi, Heather! What's up?" Meredith hugged me tight.
"Meredith, I'm glad you're here." I returned the hug, feeling her gray T-shirt match my lacy off shoulder shirt.
A man with red hair, who just got out of his sedan, asked, "Meredith, is this your new friend?"
"Dad, this is Heather. Heather, meet my real dad."
"Um, hi..." I waved nervously, then whispered to Meredith, "I don't know what to call him..." Meredith's dad laughed immediately.
"You can call me Nathan or Mr. Seymour."
"Dad? Come here!" I called my dad to meet Mr. Seymour. He walked around and they talked for a little while. So without listening to them, both of us snuck into my bedroom, which was painted pink with a very decent sized bed. Next to it was a small white desk with a pink chair, a rack full of my performance costumes, white drawers for my other clothes, a ballet barre and a microphone for recording my songs.
"Hello, girls." My mom showed up at my room at the same time as us.
"Mom? What are you doing here?"
"I was just checking to see if you finished your new song."
"Yeah, and I just finished a new dance too."
"Awesome. And you brought Meredith over, which is very nice!"
"Hi, Mrs. Kang." Meredith waved at Mom.
"Hi, Meredith! How's your day going?"
"I'm alright, and thank you for inviting me."
"That's good. I baked you guys some mini cupcakes. Would you like some while you play together?"
"Sure, that'll be nice." I took a plate of vanilla and chocolate cupcakes from Mom and gently placed them on my desk.
"Thank you for the cupcakes!" Both of us said respectfully. Mom shut the door to let us have some privacy, so we finally got to share our secrets.
"Girl, your room looks very nice!" Meredith wandered around my room.
   "Thanks again." I smiled.
"I can't believe your parents can treat me better than my real family."
"Aww, I'm sorry. But I thought your dad I just met was nice."
"He is, but he doesn't live with me anymore. It was that my stepdad married my mom, and I watched them try to play favorites between me and my brother."
"Sometimes, there are times that I wish I had a sibling."
"Oh no, you don't... but yes, it could be nice."
   "Why were they playing favorites?"
   "They wanted me over Alan."
"What did Alan do that hurt them?"
"Well, I trusted him to leave Mom's wedding with another man to visit Dad."
"Maybe we should talk about something else. It's okay to feel pain, but I'm not letting you go."
"Thank you again for the support. We should make friendship bracelets, play with my spirits collection, and watch 'Fallen Nights'." We hugged again, then I opened some of the drawers in my desk to find my kit, but Meredith was laughing when I found out I opened the drawer that had old magazines and photos of Charles. I blushed immediately, stammering once again.
"Are you looking at me? It's nothing at all..."
"Don't be scared! It's just Charles."
"Still, even if he did a lot of nice things to everyone over the past few months..."
"You still like him. Yeah, I know that, it's the teasing is what you fear..."
"Then how do I know that he'll ever like me back?"
"Listen up. There's a lot of boy-girl friendships at school. Only a small amount of people believe in cooties. We're breaking that off so that everyone can be who they want to be."
"You could be class president. I'd vote for you."
   "Thank you again!"
   "Back at you!"
"No, it's at you!" We were having lots of fun with our activities spent together, which were eating the cupcakes while making bracelets, playing with spirit dolls, talking about more things and watching 'Fallen Nights' on iTube on Meredith's new phone. That was until a new villain arrived in Nymphus, which had the appearance of an evil teddy bear in a gaming suit, suddenly trapping everyone inside a game as we peeked outside of my window.
"Mom!" I screamed for her help as we both ran out of my room.
"Heather, what's wrong?"
"There's a new villain that'll trap everyone!"
"I was there, too! It's not a joke at all!" Meredith added.
"I'll stay with you guys." My dad tried to protect us, but Meredith denied.
"Actually, I have to use the bathroom quick." She hustled to the one upstairs right away.
"Heather, we need to talk to you." My parents pulled me to the basement, telling me about their financial issues.
"So what's going on right now is that we were not getting enough money to support the whole house."
"Why is that?" I asked them.
"Imagine if three people do the same position in a job. All of them worked hard, but only to find out that they all have different payments. Sometimes, it's because of privilege or it's education reasons. Maybe there's many reasons."
"Oh no..." I responded. Does that mean I can't get new things this year?
