"So... I raise my arm like this?" Alya asked Percy who was having a mental break down over the fact no one could hold a sword properly. She had the sword above her head and was whirling it around until it flew from her hands and right at Marinette. She deflected it with her shield Annabeth had given her.
"This is going to be harder than I thought..." Percy face palmed.
"Nice block Marinette!" Annabeth congratulated. Meanwhile Grover was cowering in fear behind a bench.
"Why do I need a sword if I can just blast them to hell?" Violet asked, examining her sword curiously.
"How do we have so many swords?" Adrien asked.
"My friend Nico brought me over." Percy replied as he fixed Alya's stance.
"Where is he now?" Asked Luka who was trying to hold the sword like a guitar.
"In America." Percy answered.
"How'd he get here so fast?! How is he back in America?! Why did the airport just let him take a bunch of swords and shields?!" Alya shrieked as she lost balance.
"Shadow travel. He's a son of Hades." Percy replied.
"I can teleport?!!! FRICK YES!! This is the PORPOISE of my life!" Violet screamed and made a stab at a tree, impaling it.
"Percy you should not have told her that." Grover quavered.
"Well she already did it. That's how she got into Marinette's room." Percy défendes himself from a strike by Alya.
"So I can just go to America right now?!" Violet asked.
"I uh.. I mean I guess. Probably not a good idea.." Percy said but Violet grinned evilly. Opening the face of the earth the shadows of the dead engulfed her taking her away. Then she was gone.
"How'd she do it without the dog?" Annabeth asked.
"She's Hades, remember?" Percy face palmed. Then in a loud pop, Violet reappeared with McDonalds happy meals in her hands.
"They're McDonalds food is even better their!" She said as she sipped her Coke and took a bite of a French fry.
"Can we please focus on the training?!" Annabeth redirected them. They all nodded. "Ok! Finally. Just like... split into groups or something."
They all got into groups or partners, Percy and Annabeth going around to help. Though it was mostly Annabeth because Percy was on a mission to steal Violets happy meals.
Adrien, Alya, And Marinette were in a group. Percy was stuffing his face with French fries in fear of. Joker catching him and summoning him to the underworld. So as his face was full of food, he helped them.
"Your spitting French fry all over me." Marinette grumbled. Percy swallowed.
"Sorry." He had a ketchup smear on his nose but no one bothered to point that out. "Alya quite swinging your sword!!"
That day was a long day.
———
A couple hours passed and a majority had the hang of sword fighting. Marinette had challenged every one and won every fight except against Percy. But she cheated and would electrify their feet making them jump so she had an avantage.
As the sun set they were still fueling each other. You might wonder why people weren't freaking out, right? Well they had the protection of the mist making them seem like little kids pretending to play gladiator fights.
Some of them went home leaving Adrien, Marinette, Percy, Grover, and Annabeth. Percy kept looking at Adrien as if he knew a secret. But he kept to himself.
They grew tired and decided just to chill on Marinette's balcony of her house. Marinette constantly changed the wether for some reason, fascinated by her powers. While Adrien sulked, not talking to any one but staring at the sky and it's ever changing wether.
Percy whispered something to Annabeth and both of them looked at Adrien sadly. He took no notice though, as he was to focused on the sky, which was now a dramatic warm arrangement of clouds.
"Hey Marinette, we're gonna go." Percy said and winked at Annabeth who then made a smug face with raising eyebrows.
"Oh uh... ok..." she said and greeted them alway.
"Our ship!!" Annabeth quietly squealed and Percy fist bumped her.
Meanwhile, as Marinette returned to her balcony, she saw Adrien looking as if he were about to leave. She had also noticed he looked sad, and wanted to cheer him up.
"Hey Adrien." She said from behind him. As he turned around she suddenly hugged him.
"W-woah!" He said startled, then hugged her back. "Where did that come from?"
"Well you looked sad. I wanted to cheer you up!" Marinette said and pulled away. She had to see him as Chat Noir to maintain her cool, even though she knew they were one in the same. It was just easier talking to Chat.
"Well um... thank you." Adrien smiled.
"Is if your dad?" Marinette blurred out, immediately regretting it. Adrien stayed quiet. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that.. I uh-"
"Yeah. Janus was speaking to me."
"Wha-what? I m-mean... who's he the god of again?"
"He gives people choices. And he offered me an exchange." Adrien sighed. Marinette thought about it.
"You... have to sacrifice something... don't you?" Marinette said glumly with sad blue eyes.
"Y-Yeah. In exchange for my mother's return. I have 5 days, and if I don't do it He sacrifices it without my mother in exchange. For his own benefit." Adrien explained, rubbing the back of his neck.
".... what is the sacrifice?" Marinette wasn't sure if she wanted to know. Adrien looked away.
"The thing I love most." Was all he said. "You." Except he kept the last part in his mind, Marinette couldn't know. Not yet.
"I-I shouldn't have asked. I'm s-So sorry." She said noticing Adrien getting even worse. He didn't respond. In fact he stayed quiet for a long while. Marinette sat beside him on the couch where he was sitting, and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "I don't want to hurt you."
"I know..." he sighed.
"Frick yes holy mother of Gia our ship is happening." Percy whispered to Annabeth from his place of hiding.
"Oh shut up Percy. Adrien revealed what I needed! Janus has spoken! Spoken to him!" Annabeth elbowed Percy.
"Hey! So what of course he did, it's his dad." Grover butted in.
"You guys are both idiots. We finally know what's been bothering him, and Janus is taking control. This could ruin the plan! You hear me?!" Annabeth whisper screamed. They suddenly heard a loud thud.
"Um Annabeth..."
"Grover!!" Annabeth screamed a little more loudly than intended as she saw Grover has fallen from the balcony.
